I have read a lot of good write ups on here about installing cams. One thing that I have not seen yet is how to install a set in the 99-00 years with the pressed on gears? I just ordered a set (backordered) of VT stage 1 cams with the gears so Im looking at all the info I can find on this ahead of time. I have read hotmustang331's write up but wonder how its different with pressed on gears? I know the timing cover will have to be pulled, but what else? ALSO I need a good mail tune for the cams....Need to call MPH in the morning... what do I all need to know about the tune?

Thanks for the help guys!

it's the same except the pressed on requires front cover removal. the bolt-ons can be done in a few hours. i have gotten the bolt-ons off in an hour per cam.(pneumatic tools) The pressed on takes the extra cover time. make match marks and remove the followers before removing the chains. i use liquid white-out for marks.

Could you elaborate more on how/why to make "match" marks? I dont follow you..
