So i have a 1989 Mustang GT convertible and i was wonderin what kinda of gain ill be lookin at with the following parts:

1. 65mm throttle body
2. 65mm EGR plate
3. B303 cam
4. underdrive pulleys
5. new an bigger mass air meter
6. 19lb. injectors
7. smog pump delete kit
8. A/C delete kit
9. MSD blaster coil
10. MSD ignition
11. electric fan
12. 3.73 gears

You don't need a smog pump delete kit...just reroute the belt like shown in red

I would do the electric fan and gears save the rest of the money for a better cam heads and intake setup.

I'd do a 70mm TB if you plan on building a pretty hot motor down the road. Don't forget to grind out the opening on the intake to match the larger EGR spacer.

Don't waste your money on a cam until you have a decent set of heads and intake on the car. The stock cam will do just fine, and swapping a cam takes more effort than its worth if you aren't going to change the intake or heads while you're in there.

Your car already has 19lb injectors.

+1 on not needing a smog or A/C delete kit. There is a way to move up the power steering to get rid of the A/C, but I can't remember exactly what you need. Maybe someone will chime in on that.

Any high power ignition system is going to be a complete waste of money until you build a hotter motor. You will not see any gain from that on your car as it sits now.

Everything else will net you great performance gains. HP? Maybe 15-20, but the car will really start to wake up.

You'll get maybe 10 HP from all of those mods. It's a lot of money to spend for very little HP gained.

1 & 2: You'll still have an intake with an opening of 60MM at best.
3: It's more cam than your intake, heads and valve springs can handle. It'll idle like crazy but will slow down in the ¼ mile.
4: 5 HP.
5: See number 1 & 2 above.
6: Your car already has 19 pound injectors.
7: The smog pump doesn't slow anything down and only costs about ½ HP.
8: The only advantage to removing the A/C is the 20 or so pounds removed from the car. The compressor uses virtually no power when you have your car floored even if the A/C is on.
9 & 10: The stock ignition is more than sufficient for a stock 5.0.
11: You'll gain a few HP with an electric fan. The downside is it can be expensive to do especially if you use new parts.
12: There is no, nada, zip, power to be gained by changing the rear gears. You will gain a certain amount of rear wheel torque depending on your current rear end ratio.

the throttle body and maf upgrade isnt really gonna do anything without an upper and lower intake. All that (intake, throttle body and maf) together net like 25-30 horse. I'd forget about the 65mm tb,msd stuff and the cam. Just get an intake,70mmtb,and full exhaust and youll be good. My gt went 12.80 n/a with stock ignition, stock cam and heads.
