hi. if i set the lifter preload according to procedure and came to 20 ft lbs. between 1/4 and 3/4 turns of the stock rocker bolt my rockers should be set just fine right. i checked to see where the rockers were hitting the valve stems and they were hitting off centered even though i had the correct shims in place. i shouldn't need shorter pushrods if i got the preload on the lifters within 1/4-3/4 of a turn correct using shims correct. so what's the deal, why am i getting a funny marking. i am using fingernail polish, could it be that messing me up. if anybody lives close to conroe,tx and wants some beers, feel free to come on by and check this thing out. it's giving me hell.

Yeah, I had quite a time with it too. This is where studs come in handy. My g/f's family lives in Huntsville, too bad I'm not down there, or I would be able to help you out. I made an adj p-rod and used it at varying lengths along with vary shim heights to come up with what I deemed close enough. It took a lot of trial and error adjusting p-rod length and stacking shims, over and over.
