I need help, please read.

Hello all, I have an 89 gt vert. I bought a trick flow stage one cam, and a 76mm c&l maf with 24# injectors, installed it all and now the car will not hardly idle if I come to a fast stop, it will reve up two or three times and die. I reset my tps to .95 at idle and reset my idle. Please help. Thanks for all of your time.

man your car looks bad ass!!

yes the calibration tube is the correct one.
I have not checked my fuel pressure, but I will shortly, what should it be with the stock regulator?
I have checked for vac leaks, and not found any but I will check again.
my ses light is not on, could there still be codes?

I was thinking that it might be my tb is too small?

I don't think the TB being too small that is causing your issue.

Have you tried "clocking" the mass air? I have heard this sometimes helps with C/L's.

the only time I've heard of clocking the meter is if there is a cold air on the car, if you have one, I would try that, but I would assume that the idle issue is w/either the fuel pressure, vacuum leaks, maybe timing??? If you are using the 76maf w/the stock airbox or the kit that it comes with usiing the heat shield , I would assume you should be ok. I have the 76maf kit, didn't have to clock mine, idles ok considering my junk 94-95 processor w/the cam.

dstanggt50, my timming is set at 13*, do you know what the fuel pressure should be? And how much vacume should I be pulling at an idle, also does it matter where I tie my gauge in the check the vac? thanks for your time!!

I have my fuel pressure set at 44psi, but I think every car is different, i've heard some people run around 42 or so, not sure. Its been a while since I've checked my vacuum, but we used to run it off a vacuum hose that came off the intake. As far as how much vacuum, I guess I had an idiot guage cause it was color coded, I just went off of that , don't remember the exact #, If I had to guess I would say you want to have more than 12-14  , sorry, mine was color coded. Also, when I had my lunati cam in my old 87gt, I could not get my car idle at all, so we put an idle spacer( don't know if that is the correct name), it looked like a spacer that went on the iac, and had a screw you could adjust. It was the only way I could get that car to idle, may wanna look into that if everything else checks out. Might also want to check codes as well.

I had a similar problem in my LX after cam and intake install. My car wouldn't idle it surged and sounded crappy. It ended up being a huge vacuum leak, on of the lower intake gaskets was faulty. Now my car runs awesome, better than it ever has. I hope this helps.
