I need reviews (sold the Mach 1)

MIke,

How dare you spin your tires, powerbrake, and slide sideways in your mustang. NO ONE NOT ONE of us on here did that when we were 16. NO NOT EVER. If anyone says different they MUST be lying. After seeing that you must also have 427 speeding tickets and should not have anything over your 105 HP 4 banger. DO not follow anyones directions in here with a DIY turbo or 5 liter HCI swap. From the looks of it you WILL DIE because you have done these things....

Edit: Also NONE of us continue to do these things now as well...

well, yeah there is one person i can recall here that has videos on streetfire of him sliding his GT pretty damn well.

Mike, I have gotten along with you since you got here and I dont believe I have ever flamed you but that video deserves some bashing :nonono:
I didnt see anything that would denote driving skills. Getting a Fox sideways in the rain can be done by anyone and seeing it snap back like that it tells me it was not a controlled skid at all.
On the other hand I have done the same thing in my teens. It was a CFI Stang so it didnt have much more power but it was close :rlaugh:
Seeing how he handled that 4 banger and I remember the vid of his 5.0 driving I think a turbo Stang is beyond his current abilities. It will eaither blow up from being driven too hard or blow up from not tuning it right or blow up from him installing a boost controll and cranking it fully open "just for 2 seconds" or worst yet, him pile driving it into a tree. :notnice:

I know it snapped back, it sucked i know. But thats one video, the only video i was able to get which sucked, that everyone is basing my driving skills on. and mind you its a 4 cyl with open diff. so its really unpredictable. also, I know not to open the boost all the way. I dont want to go so far ahead then just end up worse than before. and the video of my GT, when it stuttered, I found out what it was. It was that the TB plate was getting stuck.

I appreciate all the feedback. And yes you guys did convince me out of the turbo idea, but only because of the tranny and rear end and supporting mods. But still doesnt mean I wont use the money for a 5.0. Not necesarily a fox though. I have to look around and see whats good.

Cars in mind.
-mustang
-maverick
-torino
-mark viii

Ya know a Mark VIII is a damn fine car. It will easily outrun any stock Fox and most modded modular Stangs. They are very cheap and not hard to work on. Oil change, headers and sway bars are the only things that are a PITA to work on. Parts are also fairly cheap (comparable to 96-04 Mustang parts) and I already PMd you about what their common issues are and how to address them. They handle well for their size and weight but really need the front load and cradle braces to handle REALLY well. They do have an open diff too so its not that easy for it to put down all 300 hp sometimes. If I were to keep mine then I would put a trac loc in it :nice:

i just went out and killed the tires on the stang, then put the new on :D

Mike. buy a stock 5.0 and dont let it get totaled like last time. (been there it sucks lol) and before you get your panties in a knot i know it wasn't your fault!

should of just bought drop tops hatch. already had a few things done to it. and a H/C/I fox not being all that crazy is kinda like saying a honda is fast. i drove a 88 lc hatch with a 330rwho H/C/I on a 306 and it was alot different then a stock 5.0. so right there proves your cocky and can handle any sort of power at the wheels imo. i can say this for fact. id LOVE to have 400+ rwhp in my car right now but i also KNOW i would get my self in alot of trouble with it. so build it slow and appreciate it for what it is. your 17 as am i. we have out whole lifes to build a 400+ turbo or n/a monster of a motor for a stang. enjoy your youth while you can. i know i wouldn't want to be in the garage every few weeks after i poped a head gasket. or the turbo decided to go and have to be replaced. the up keep on a turbo'ed v8 is going to be ALOT more then what you would have with an H/C/I fox. ask woody. he changed his head gaskets like 4 times i think and his was just a roots blower at 8lbs i believe.

i dont get it, a convertible hatch

He well deserved some criticism, flaming, whatever you want to call it. when you post a video like that for us to see you open yourself to comments. yes others and myself have driven our cars a little crazy at times, but I didn't video it nor put it out in public forum for discussion. once it's out there it gets responces wether wanted or not. I also think most us where busting his coins, which we all get on here from time to time. This turbo post went way north just most of his posts. Mike is good kid, with good intentions. He needs to take his lumps and ball busting, it's part of growing up.

lol yeah i get you guys. But like I told Laser, Im leaning towards a mark viii. I love them. Besides, I also want to get familiar with mod motors. They are selling quite a few around here, real nice, for about $2k.

there indestructable the bottoms ends are good for at least 700 horse. get you a mark 8 and spray the **** out of it. at least get a 250 shot. na screw that 2 stages of 100 would be better. and screw getting it tuned just pull the vacuum line of the fuel pressure regulator so those factory 24's can get some flow going on.

*do not do this*

The only mods avaliable for the Mark VIII is exhaust (complete cat back with a pro chamber style h-pipe will run $300 for the parts and whatever an exhaust shop wants to bend the pipes), tune, headers, gears and thats it. There are no CAIs for them, no supercharger kits (although any 96-98 Cobra kit can be modified to fit) no suspension kits. There are two coil over kits to get rid of the air ride, one is stock height the other is 1.5" lower. BTW, the car sits too low already. Its nose is forever scraping the road when pulling out/in a driveway thats angled :nonono:

They do make so great braces though. If you got all of them it would run about $400 but with that, coil overs and good wheel/tire combo the car will out hsndlr most stock cars made :nice:

not completely. lol. Im looking up and seeing which out of all the options would be my best bang for the buck (and hp).

get an rx7 and put a 5.0/t5 in it. BANG for the BUCK. a buddy of mine bought one already built for 2,000, its now having a t70 turbo and mild h.c.i put on it. its gonna be a crazy fast car. he also has a 500whp GTI though.

a mark 8 would be nice. but the dont look the best imo. but there very nice riding cars.

Thats a plus for the Lincoln. Everyone ignores you including the cops. Even if they tag you for speeding they dont bother chasing you, usually they go after something else. If you are in a hurry then a car as invisibal as the Mark VIII is usually a good thing :D
