I need reviews (sold the Mach 1)

well, i went to turbomustangs and saw a whole 17 page thread on the installment of that same kit. It put down some nice numbers. almost 500 rwhp and over 600 rwtq. But yeah, he had a load of fitment issues. he has to bang up his firewall, shave his bumper, remove his sway bar, and several other things. Some guy wants my 4 cyl coupe for $1500. If I can find a 5.0 for that much, Ill have about $4000 in parts alone. which can buy me a hellion turbo kit if I want to. But thats too expensive IMO. But i just have to search around. I ran into the twin turbo kit on ebay for less than 1k. HAHAHA i laughed. Post up some links on good turbo kits and mustangs near Miami. The sooner I find the 5.0, the better.

and any other setup thoughts? Supercharger? idk. anything that will give me at least 430 rwhp.

actually ive been seeing better and better stuff about those kits with very good numbers....

umm, stykthyn, I have trust in my brother. We are real close. I've never sold him out and he's never sold me out. Im not in one of those families where everyone screws each other over. We have a pretty tight bond. whats the big deal? He wants it, why not sell it to my brother? Hes the person i trust most. So whats the fault in there?

:stupid:
things that will also need beefed up to handle say 400hp.

transmission. i can bet you would kill 3rd within 2 weeks.
clutch. stock clutch wont hold that power past 2,000 rpms if even that.
tires, you will need to run drag radials now. and drag radials dont like rain at all.
plus tons of other **** that im not going to waste my time listing since your not listening anyways.

:bang:

Ryan,

its all in the driving. I have over 500 crank HP and have the stock clutch and tranny. In fact, I believe I have the stock tranny due to the clutch being stock as it allows some slip/play. I am not going to vouch for this kid, but just say it can be done if done right. If you have your foot in the loud pedal and you beat the tar out of your car it will not last. Plain and simple.

I think mostly what you have accomplished in two years in this forum is succumbing to group think. Anything can be done. How much did you pay for your car again? :nice:

I know i am guilty of that. I let my friends opinions on here sway some of my decisions. Some, not all mind you. If I listened too all of them I wouldnt have 350Z wheels on my Cobra :rlaugh:

But a point here is that Mike wants to sell the Mach and the Coupe. If he does then (forgive me if I am wrong) then the new Fox will be his only car. Getting a sub $4000 5.0 Fox AND putting an ify turbo on it is just not a good idea if its his only car. Even if he did get a quality turbo kit and managed to install it correctly there is still the fact that its an old 5,0 that wasnt built for boost. Sure with a good tune and low boost he will be okay for the most part but he is a teenager and will succomb to the "Hey man, crank the boost and lets see what she can do" goading his brothers/friends will undoubtedly do.

If its gonna be done then it should be done right. Getting a $4000 Fox with a fresh engine would be the better idea and wait for a real job and some real money befor adding boost to it.

Just my .02

I can agree with most of that, I am just trying to give him respect, albeit he is young, and give him what he is asking for.

I would however say that with the low 9.0 compression and pre '93 forged pistons made it a very viable candidate for my boost obsession. I am currently running 13.5 lbs on the stock internals and block with no problems:nice:

me? i paid 1,500 for it bone stock with 43k on it.

and yes it can be done but he is 17. as am i. i know his foot will be in more then it should. i know of cars running low 11's and high 10's with close to 500 wheel hp and a stock t5. your right. all in how you drive. i HIGHLY doubt though. he will be gentle on it.

I was gentle on my gt. Sure once in a while youll give it some gas, who doesnt? Im not a maniac on the road. I hate people flying in the road. And besides, i dont wanna be draining my gas. Ive learned, the more power you have, the easier you are on the throttle, and I always see the people with the moster 68 camaros or Olds 442's loud, cammed, beefed up the arse, and cruise down the road. no need to speed :nice:

Then why do you want a turbo on a DD Fox?

A Fox can cruise around slowly just fine on its own. They have the sweet tone already so you will have the sound of power. And if the only time you get on it is to enter the highway cause you dont speed or drive fast then the stock 302 also has more then enough oomph for that as well.

yeah i know what you mean. I like knowing I have that power under the hood.

so put a sticker on the windsheild, then you can see your power

ok seriously. buy a fox. throw a mild H/C/I on it first. DRIVE IT SOME, then start gather parts to turbo it. a mild H/C/I fox is plenty to turn good times. if you can drive that is.

i know of a guy running 11's with an explorer motor. only change has been a stock HO cam and some juice. pretty sure thats all he has changed. 85 SS knows who im talk about.

Who owns a car and doesn't use its power...

I own a car and use more power than the car makes. :D

You would drive by me on the highway, I cruise slow in the fox. But you better believe I beat the car to the ground at other times. Any younger guy, and almost any "Mustang" guy will do the same.
