I need some space

I recently purchased a Taurus E-fan and when I went to install it was touching the pulleys. Is there any way to make room for the fan. Mind you I do not have a garage, or a convenient electrical outlet nearby.

Don't get me started about not having a garage... I empathize... As for the fan fitment... first, see if you can offset it by an inch or two to get the motor way from the pulleys. This is what I had to do with mine... Sure, it ain't centered anymore, but who cares. Or you can try to trim the "shroud" back a bit (I don't know that fan at all, so I don't know if there space to trim) using a dremel. You should be able to do this in your house/condo/apartment as long as you keep checking to make sure the fan doesn't extend past the shroud (into where the radiator would be). The last option is probably to get a slimmer fan... mine is right at 3.75", and I had to offset it by an inch so it wouldn't interfere. It's rated at 2700CFM or something like that, and I can tell you, it does a heck of a job. I think it was well under $100.

What fan did you get? I am gonna try to see if I can trim and offset it

It looks like its gone up in price a bit since I bought it, but still under $100... 2700 CFM electric fan . It says it's 4.5" deep, so I might be wrong when I said 3.75". BTW, they've got other fans, even a 3100CFM unit... other fans .

Hopefully you can keep the Taurus fan. They're supposed to be good fans, and I'll bet it was way cheaper than buying new. Good luck.
