Injector change questions

I just changed my 30# injectors today to 24# and my C&L 80mm meter to a 76mm meter. Fuel pressure is currently set at 32# with the vacuum hose off. What should I set it at now? Here is my cylinder #3 spark plug. How does it look?

Also, a weird question that noone SHOULD know the answer to. What happens if you start up the engine with the TPS, IAC, and EVP unplugged, and the upper intake removed. Everything else is hooked up. I'm obviously not dumb enough to try this, but what exactly would happen?

The motor would rev until in blew up. There would be no way to adjust how much air entered the motor. Remember engines are large air pumps and it would rev very fast. I asked someone this question before and that was the answer I got. Wheter its true I dont know. Seems like it could be plausible. Where is MythBusters when you need them.

lol i know, right? i didnt know if the computer would cut back the fuel since it saw some sensors were unplugged.

The engine most likely wouldn't even start. There would be far too much air coming in. You might get some small flames to shoot out the intake, though.

oh dear. i guess it is too lean then since i havent felt any detonation. i probably have the fuel pressure too low then. crap i should have tried raising it before i tore it apart today. but the 30's were too big anyway. what should i set the pressure at? i have heard 39 and 44.

i am quite serious. i had been having uneven idle problems and set the fuel pressure at 32 psi with the hose off. later i properly set the base idle, timing, and tps, but left the fuel pressure alone. i have not noticed anything out of the ordinary except for a tendency to stall when revved up and then dropped in gear. seems like it was just the low fuel pressure.

39psi with the vacuum unplugged is stock setting. i'd go from there and see how it does. if it still runs lean, increase a little at a time. right now mines at 42-44 with vacuum line off.

cool - i guess i will just have to wait and see how it goes and play with it some. actually i think i might pick up some SOTP power with this downgrade, since the FP wasn't right before. funny thing - it was running lean, but still fired right up in the cold, flooded on warm starts, and got 10 mpg oh well it should be more well behaved now. hey, at least i learned how to use macro mode on my digital camera

when my motor was stock back in 01 i switched from 2:73's to 3:73's and got better gas milage. after a few mods later it stayed about the same at around 21mpg. gets about the same now, little less by maybe 3 with the 3000 stall.

is it really? hmm...i guess i've been lucky then. only about 800 miles on fresh motor, not even broken in yet and it is a beast. can't wait until it is tuned better. lol

it's really hard to read plugs anymore since gas has got all theese additives
