Injector Leak?

My 4guage wires runs from my alternator to the starter solenoid (the one with all the wires on it)...been running like that for almost a year now...is that what your talking about...

...
no, he is talking about the power ground for the charging system. with the upgraded alternator, you wired in the 4 gauge power wire (from alt to solenoid). you also need a strong power ground for the additional output (remember that juice flows from ground to positive). you dont want insufficient grounding.

I'm am wiring retarted...it is 130 amp alt by the way...from paperformance...I got the Wiring upgrade kit from them also which included that 4 guage wire and a 200 inline fuse...

So what part do I need to get this ground...is their like a part # or something...what are the ill effects of not doing this...

Like I said I've been running almost a year like this and haven't noticed any problems...

no need to apologize. JR is one of the few people i have seen who note the grounding upgrade is necessary (just as upgrading the 'power' side is necessary).

were it me, i would get some bulk 4 gauge wire (stereo shop, online, etc) and make my own cable. alternatively, you might be able to go look at the battery cable section of the parts store and find something that will work (needs to be long enough and have a means of being connected - some cables have an eyelet at each end - great for putting a bolt through, a la how the cables connect to the starter solenoid.

JR might know of a better way to do it - this is how i would (the extra ground, while important, is not as finicky as a power cable. it is hard to mess up a ground cable. :) .

good luck.

So I need to get some 4 guage wire or ground wire? with some eyelets on both ends...

Where do I install this at...where do the two ends go...explain to me what would be a good ground...

Peat & REpeat...

Any car that has a 3G alternator needs a 4 gauge ground wire running from the block to the chassis ground where the battery pigtail ground connects.

Like I have "repeated" :) ...I don't know wiring or its terminology...

Okay so I need to have another 4 guage wire attached to the block somehow (would it be fine to put it under an alternator bracket bolt against the head or bracket)? What could I attach it to on the block...

Where is the chassis ground? Or I need something attached to the body?...where would be good? I have no clue what a battery pigtail is?
