Installing wheel studs

What would it take to install longer studs on a 65 mustang? The stock ones are too short to safely bolt my wheel adapters onto, so i need to put longer ones in both the front and rear. Will I have to drain the rear end or can i just pull the axles out a few inches without losing my fluid. And how do I go about doing the fronts.

Both front and rear are pressed in.
Remove the axles and front Hub's and take them to a machine shop with a press, It's worth the few bucks not to have to beat them out and reset them.

No you won't leak rear oil, just becareful of the seals.

Just a small amount will leak from the tube ends.
use care not to drop the axle onto the seal and smash it.

Alright, great. Now i was looking at some pics of the fronts since I'm about 50 miles from my car right now, and i thought i noticed that the studs are pressed into the actual drum cover. Is this correct? If so, that'd be much easier than i had originally planned.

Ok, one more question...What size is the knurl on the studs for the front and rear drums. Summit sells two sizes of ARP studs for mustangs, .618 and .625.
