I'd definately do the stage 2's.. overall you don't gain a lot of hp over the stage 1's.. but i think the powerband pulls just a little further than the 1's and also the stage 2's will compliment your heads much better

check their site just a note.. if your friends mustang is a 99+ he will still beat you. the KB is awesome.. however your heads are dog beaten... think why the 99+ has 40 more HP rating. then again, the power made with the stock heads and a KB might be enough for you... YMMV.

Its been debated and proven that most of the PI's power is from the Intake and Cams....so going with a KB eliminates the Intake problem and adding some PI cams will really help the blower.
GDAWG is about to do the KB install on his stock NPI soon so we'll see how it turns out.

not for long
i'm building a solid forged shortblock and i'm gonna just be using @8psi but i know i won't be able to control myself and will smash the gas pedal every chance i get. Some guys run 9-12psi on stock blocks for a long time...i know i couldn't so i'm doing it right the first time.

my .02

mph heads. they just seem to have the best flow.

intake you only have 3 options right now. bullitt, riechard racing, p-51. I would do the p-51. back when ken b from MD was running his 2v he picked up power over the ported bullit he had with the p-51.

cams I would probabaly do custom ground from comp or vt. why run an off the shelf grind when you may benefit a bit from having them grind you a set for you combo.

headers I would run kooks. they are expensive but you can drop the tranny and they are stainless.

Their customer service is top notch and Scott will be more than
happy to help you out.

Okay, so question? I was reading about backpressure on Kenne Bell's website. I was wondering how much back pressure is required on a N/A setup like mine, with the Stage 2 Heads, Cams, and Ported Bullitt Intake? Is there any required? Because Kenne Bell said that with a Supercharged vehicle, adding Longtubes to a car with no cats can actually make you lose horsepower? Is that true? I am weart about adding long tubes, if they are going to make me lose horsepower.

You guys are hard on me because I want to go with MMR and you guys tempt me to creep away from MMR. MMR is not really on the top of anyones list, any reason why? Horespower numbers wise how do the Ported and polished stage II heads compare to the VT Heads.

One of the best N/A cams out there is the Crower Stg II PI SC cam, VT has recommended that cam over their Stg II N/A cam.

I think you are mistaken. Why would I ever suggest a blower cam over my N/A grinds for an N/A application?

Perhaps because your Stg II's were not in stock. I may have misread the forums on MD, but there is about 2 - 3 posts over there from different people who said they got that info from you. Some have said that you suggested the Crower Cam as an alternative to your Stg II cam.

You might want to go over there and correct that info then if it is wrong. I am not going to go and find the threads. I know one was by Thomas W on MD.

Yes...I would suggest the Crower blower cams if my BLOWER cams were not in stock. I wouldn't suggest the blower grind in place of a N/A grind in a N/A set-up. That kinda defeats the purpose don't you think?

Get 100-150 shot of NX nitrous much cheaper and will make monster power for around $1,000

I guess I gave VT Engines to much credit. The Comp 270's are excellent N/A cams, some would argue even better than VT Stg II N/A cams. Hmmmm, a little comparison of Comp 270 to those Crower Blower cams.

Comp 270's:
234/238 @ .050", 109/117 113 LSA, .550" lift

Crower Stg II PI SC cams:
234/234 @ .050", 110/118 114 LSA, .581" lift

The Crowers are almost identical to the 270's except they have more lift. That being said, there is no doubt these cams will work in a N/A application There is people over on MD running these cams in N/A cars because of how closely spec'd they are to the 270's but slightly more aggressive on the lift side and they are making very good power.

Ya...except that MY cams make the SAME power with 10* LESS intake duration. Why? Because they are designed for N/A. Not a generic one-grind-fits-all deal. Also my cams where run in John Edwards car who originally had Comp 270's. He pulled those out to see how mine would work. Peak numbers where within 2 HP...but the area under the curve was much better. He went 2 tenths quicker with my cams. Don't worry, I don't need your credit.

And your cams have .560 lift on the intake side compared to Comp's .550. You failed to mention that part. The best comparison I have seen was by KenB at MD which showed Comp 262 VS VT Stg II VS Comp 270 in another heated cam debate. Unfortunately that dyno graph is no longer posted. The best cam was the Comp 270. Most over there say pick your poison between the Comp 270 vs VT Stg II, in fact even you have said that over there.

So don't start this crap here and now, this does not need to turn into a heated debate. Like I said, I suggest you go over to MD and find those 3 - 4 other people who posted they got that info from you guys and correct it. I have never contacted you guys and don't intend to. I am only going from what I heard from over there on what I posted earlier that got your panties in a bind.

anyways, if I had that kind of money for an N/A set-up I would go with:
MPH stage 2.5 heads
VT stage 2 cams
P-51 intake

Don't be a fool, I know the bullitt intake is good but not better than the P51. Plus I'm pretty sure the cost is cheaper or similar to the bullitt set-up when all is said and done. The Reichard is a little extreme and it is for a race engine, not a street car.

You are correct...My stage 2's and Comp 270's produce extremely close #'s, I never argued that. My argument is YOU said that I suggested Crower stg 2 blower grinds over my stage 2 N/A....I'm just saying I think you are wrong, because I have never said that. I don't need to search anything. You don't have my panties in a bind...don't worry. Like I said....the car went 2 tenths quicker when my cams were switched from the 270's. And it was installed and tuned @ MD. Proof enough for me. Look at the MM@FF 2V shootout....all the top runners had our cams.......enough said.
