well, i have been given the oportonity to purchase a Bullitt intake from a friend who is selling his 02 GT. im assuming this is an aftermarket piece, and not bought off a Bullitt mustang. he said he got it for $950, and he has only had it and the car for about 1 year. he said he would sell me the intake for $500? he said he would rather unload it for alot less then he paid for it because he wouldnt get anything for it from the dealer(he is trading in on a cobra i think).
so my question is is this worth it? does my car need this? i have an 03 GT by the way. he said he might go lower, but does that price seem far?
thanks in advance guys!

peak hp a plenum and tb combo come close to a bullitt but average gains under the curve are much better, for $500 i would buy it in a heartbeat. like mentioned its a much better intake, say if you wanted to spray or put a cent s/c on

if it's EVERYTHING needed to swap intakes then yes. I'd take him up on the offer because even though the accufab plenum and TB can pickup almost as much hp N/A for about $400, the bullitt intake is all metal and will show more gains if you ever go with a power addAr.

well, he was going to replace the Bullitt setup currently on there with just the stock piece, he is basically just selling off all his aftermarket and addon stuff, so with that said yes it will come with everything. how much more power will this intake produce? is there anything else i may want to aide the intake that does not come with it? it seems like you guys think this is a good idea, so i will probobly go with it
and how hard will this be to install? i have done things of this nature with my 5.0, but am not farmiliar with the 4.6's, thanks again all!

I'll buy it for $650 if everything comes with it. including the alternaters & other stuff...I know its not gonna happen but Its gotta be a better chance than winning the powerball. :D Wait I live in Minn.. I think I am gonna buy one of those things see if we can get three wins this year.

The swap won't be too bad. I did my PI intake swap in about 5 hours but 3 of those hours were spent trying to get the bastard bolt that holds the coolant tube onto the BACK OF THE BLOCK off as well as trying to figure out how to make the new one fit (long story on it over at Modular Depot).

But yeah, as long as it comes with everything, go for it. Expect about 15ish hp give or take a few depending on what mods you have.

Now, if it were ME doing it, yeah, I'd get take this guy up on the intake buy BUT I'd also save up a few bucks and buy as set of VT's stage 1 cams to REALLY maximize the potential of the higher flowing intake. (And I say stage 1 because stage 2's need new springs and as long as your pulling springs you might as well slap new valves in there and that can be a HUGE pita)

Hell, to tell you the truth, the price of a pair of cams and the intake deal this guy is giving you would probably be the same price as a brand new bullitt intake kit alone!!

Only thing you'd have to worry about though is the tune you'd need IF you did a cam swap but swapping cams and the intake will get you in the neighborhood of 60ish hp mabey more if a good tuner gets his hands on the car after the install. :D

You see how all this kinda snowballs downhill! Sucks don't it! HAHAHA
