Ok heres the deal i have an 88 GT and my friend fell in love with Mustangs after i started modding mine. Theres is a nice 90 LX for sale for 3,600 bucks, my friend wants to offer him 3,200 for it. here the description of the car. Its a 90 LX with 88,000 miles on it. It has an AOD which is he wants, it just got a paint job so it looks really good right now. It has a 2.5 inch Cowl Hood. Flowmaster exhaust with bright new chrome pipes stickin out of the back other than that i think its untouched. I havent look at the engine yet but from what ive seen from the interior its spotless, no rips no burn holes, and get this a functioning ash tray lid. The under body is pretty good, the only place i see a lot of rust is the rear differential cover, everything else looks great. Doesnt seem to be leaking anything its been there for about 3 or 4 days and nothing there so thats good. Anyways give me some things to look for when i look at the engine and stuff, and also does this seem good to you 3,200???

I'm assuming an LX 5.0...

From the research I've done, it sounds like a very reasonable deal, esp considering the low mileage and all that. They go for quite a bit since they're so popular in racing and now donating to kit cars (FFR Cobra replica).

Good luck

I have a 90 LX 5.0 5 Speed Hatchback w/ Sunroof. It has 136,000 miles, flowmasters, new alt, weld draglites, tinted windows, stereo system, interior doesn't have any burn holes or tears, but it does have some rust, the hatch is rusted pretty bad, but my point is that I would hope to get at least 3600 out of it and I am trying to sell it. Maybe i'm wishful thinking, but i'm not sure if I'd want to let it go for less than 3500. I'd say if he wants an AOD and doesn't have plans to gut the thing, it would be a good deal at 3600, even better at 3200, but that also depends on your area...

Back in 3/01 I paid $5700 for a 90'lx 5spd with 61k, showroom condition inside and out. Sounds like a good price for what you are describing. Tell you're friend to go for it, even at $3600 if the car is clean it's a good price.

Well heres the deal guys, i went with my friend to look at it and take it for a test drive. To answer some questions you guys asked, its a 5 liter and a hatchback. I live in Ohio so yeah winter sucks, one day like today itll be 65 degrees and Weds high is supposed to be 11. Its hard to find a rust free Mustang in this state, the guy said the paint look really dull so he sanded the whole thing, and it only had a little rust on the rear right wheel well, but he fixed that. My friend offered him 3200 for and he said im despret so ill take it. So its a done deal. It even has A/C that works. From what i saw of the engine it looks like he took real good care of it. Thanks for all the replies guys
