I am mulling over a sweet audio system for my 67 coupe. I currently have nothing in there and starting from scratch. I have in mind what I am thinking about and would like to share with you, see if any of you other audo enthusiasts have any input. As far as a head unit I am about set on the Custom Autosound USA-630, i like the power it brings and the looks and the IPOD interface. Currently Crutchfield is having a fire sale on some of their items, found some Kenwood 6x9s for 60 bucks and 6 1/2 component speakers for 50, kenwood as well with crossovers and tweeters. I may round this out with on ancient (but good) bazooka tube in the trunk. Anyone have any experience with these head units or any input, greatly appreciated, thanks.

IMO, i wouldnt use anything from Custom autosound if you are a TRUE audio enthusiast. For the same money or less you can get a name brand with more features. I have a Eclipse in my glove box,MB Quart in fiberglass Kick panels im finishing up,4 4"Pioneers in the doors,2000 watt Phoenix Gold monoblocks for Kicker L7's and Phoenix Gold 400 watt 4 channel for the full range speakers.

Also because they say Kenwood, doesnt mean that great speakers, they have their entry level line like everybody else.

Yeah, I understand entry level stuff and whatnot, I know quality head units make the biggest difference, but I dont want to mount a radio in the glove box or get fancy like that, I want to control it from the dash, im not driving this car every day. I just want some good sound, not audio competition winning sound. I do have a phoenix gold 200 watt amp that I may hook up to the speakers instead of using the head unit. Everyone seems to be a fan of Infinity Reference line, and I like it, but I am trying to stay within a budget too.
