Just bought a '89 5.0

Well everyone I decided to put my 69 on the backburner for now and I picked up this. Its a '89 5.0 5 -speed, roller rockers, larger cam, bbk filter, mass air 3.73's, Pro 5.0 shifter, 93 cobra rear end, all the bells and whistles inside, and 64,700 on the clock. Well let me know what you think.

Looks like a good striaght body! But, whats up with all the metal pedals, steering wheel cover, and fire extinguisher (sp?)... I would at least take that stuff out, if you want the fire extinguisher at least move it to a less noticeable spot..

BTW, what does the switch box in the ash-try control?

Paint the hood, its not an import, and then remove all unnecessary gauges until needed. Other than that, looks like a nice car to start out with.

Looks good. What are the switches for? Did that thing run nitrous in the past?

I just got the car havent had time to fool with it yet. Pedal covers are coming off, as well as the steering wheel cover. But the hood is staying flat black, I personally think it makes the car. And the decal on the windshield is coming off too.

nice steal on that one, when I bought my 89 it only had 53,000 on it. But it was all stock complete with rusted and broken off tailpipes (at the weld to the muffler) which I failed to notice until I brought it home. just a lesson learned in life, always check it thoroughly before you buy it!

I like it, but take off the headlight/taillight covers and that wing thingy on the hatch... also paint the hood and lose the pedals and steering wheel cover. Other than that.... looks in good shape with low miles.

Yea, the headlight and taillight covers are illegal I guess anyways, and the pedals and wheel cover are coming off. But Iam gonna leave the hood like it is I think it looks good.

Nope lol, those were just for looks I guess because the ashtray door broke like always. So the lid getting fixed and the panel is coming out.
