Just bought a 94 Cobra - question on front suspension

Sold my 95 GT about a year ago - missed it ever since. Picked this 94 up on Friday with 35,000 miles. She's in pretty good shape just needs some cleaning and TLC - anyway it's good to be back on the forums - I was already able to diagnose and fix the AC problem using it.

On to my question - I have a creak or a clunk or something in the front end. Seems to be an issue of weight transfer, especially on the left side - or at least it seems like it. Seems to do it just when I take off, and then if I'm going slow and stomp the brake it will do it.

I've done a search and read a lot, but thought I'd ask in this specific forum to see if anyone has had the same experience-

might be the spring isolaters have worn completely through or just fell off, that's my guess because of the weight transfer.

ball joint or one of the control arm bushings

also check both sway bars front and back.

Sounds like it could be quite a few things. I think I'll just get it up in the air and check all the bolts and do some visual checks, then start replacing stuff. Thanks for the replies guys.

You found a 94 with 35k miles??? I'm so jealous Mine had 55k when I bought it . . . . in 1999!

I had this same problem. Everytime i hit the brakes hard somthing would "pop" in the front end. It went away after i tightened all the k member bolts. Try that.

Lube the swaybar bushings . Maybe try that.
