Just found out car has a 306!

Apparently the previous owner rebuilt the engine and bored it 30 over making it a nice little 306. Seems to be pretty snappy. It just has the aformentioned rebuilt engine, stock, heads, intake, cam, bbk off-road x-pipe, flowmasters rebuilt rear end and 3.73 gears and thats it. How fast should it bein the 1/4? I was thinking 14.0 flat maybe a 13.9. More like a 14.1 though.

is that stock heads/cam/intake?
mid 14s if all the above is stock.

306 - 302 is almost no difference HP wise. Maybe like 1 hp?

hate to burst your bubble, but 4cid more with all the same parts wont get you much hp, maybe 3?
With the 3.73's, if you can get traction, a 13.9 is possible.

Just curious how did you find out the engine was rebuilt to a 306...is it proved?

There can be a nice difference between a worn-out 302 and a fresh 306...

Go hit those 13's

Yes you do, but he does not have h/c/i, and not to mention the vortech

well i dont know if it has a 306, but the owner who is a friend of mine told me it was rebuilt and only has 30,000 miles on the clock. But even if hes lying i dont really care i got the car for $2000.

I know my cousin bought a "347" 90 gt w/ 5000 miles on it (as said by the seller)...and always wondered why it still had the stock heads and intake on it...and when he had engine problems later he had it torn down and found out it was just the stock 302 base...
