well i just ordered magnaflow catted x pipe from ninosport.com got it for 399.95 plus F/S. just was wondering how hard is the install. me and my buddy are going to tackle it. any help would be great. starting to get into the game, got x pipe coming, 3.73 ford gears coming, already have volant cai & jet chip i have to install, last but not least, soon to have borla cat-back. i figure all of these add on's should wake my 96 gt 5-speed up somewhat. now i just have to find the time & $ to get the rest.

yeah, it's easy as long as you have the right tools. Specifically you'll need a ratchet wrench, the correct socket, a long (18-24") extension, and universal joint to get the old H-pipe off of the exhaust manifolds.

Driver's side manifold bolt.

Patience is your greatest asset. Good luck! Took my friend and me about 4 hours all told.

If you really want your GT to come alive, you need to do a headswap.

How do ya'll get under there?? Even with the stang on ramps, I can't fit under it! I'm used to working on lifted Jeeps, where it needs to be lower to reach stuff, not higher so I can fit under it, lol. I've given up and am robably gonna take it to an exhaust shop to have them do it.

We used jackstands for my cat back, ramps for my x pipe. Easy peasy.
The cat back too longer because we had to get the stock cat back off. The stock H came off easy and the X went on pretty easily too. Wasn't even rusted on or anything. 4 years of MA winters too

x pipe

I put one on my 01 cobra and it was a pain in the ass! I could not for the life of me get the pass side bolts off. I ended up taking it to an exhaust shop. The guy used a torch and got the bolts good and hot and then spun right off. I was pleased to see he had the stock H out in less than 20 minutes. Now here is the real pisser. We tried to mount the x but it would not fit on the manafold studs because the pipes were about 1/2 to narrow. So he cut the pipe at the cat (pass side) and made a sleve that he welded on to the pipe coming out of the cat after he bent the pipe that bolts to the manafold in a pipe bender. Other than that it works great. I love the sound. I also did not need to use MIlls. I have put 3000 hard miles on the car and no check engine light. I have a few vids of the exhaust here.

good luck!
