kenne bell blower

thinkin bout gettin a blower in the spring...i'm looking at the 6-14 psi get but they have intercooled and non intercooled. the intercooled is a grand more...that's a little hard on the pockets even though i'm already at 4000 but my question is how important is the intercooler and any differences b/w these two?

If you run more than 6lbs of boost, your going to need the intercooler. Other wise say bye bye to your engine. Anything higher than 6 is creating to much heat.

I would say if you are going to spend that kind of money, go intercooled. Just remember @ 9psi, you are just about at the the end of what the stock block can handle. Good luck.

Intercooling the KB will significantly lower discharge temps from the blower, and that's a good thing.

If you have the money buy the IC.

I'm going with the 6psi kit off the bat too. May I suggest buying the non-intercooled kit and getting the IC when you get ahold of more money and have the need for more power. The nice thing I have heard about the KB kit is, that it's completely upgradable and it wont cost u much of a difference to upgrade down the road.

I plan on going intercooled in a couple of years after I build up the rear end, tranny, and internals (and when I am done with school). After all this is done, then I will be on the search for some higher power levels ( I like to call it stupid power, but I want it). Go to Kenne Bell website and look at the tech tips. there is a lot of useful information there. Also you can do a search on Kenne Bell and installation tips on the web, I found a lot of useful (Non Kenne Bell test) information there too. I did a lot of research before I bought, other independent studies results came close or matched Kenne Bells numbers. Good luck, I love mine, only bad thing is I installed it last weekend and it has been raining ever since

thanx guys i'll see what kenne bell has to offer for upgrades and the price diff down the road...cuz either i hold out a little more and get it intercooled..or j/ get it and upgrade it..thanx again

Yeah less work... putting it in later will just be a pain.

It's a pain in the ass to do the IC, don't get me wrong......but I think it would suck even more to have to take the blower back off later down the road.
