so it seems safe to say on a stock setup at the low boost levels of forced induction that people run a perfectly fine and reliable setup, But seems that once they turn up the boost, is when they have headgasket problems. Now i belive this to be for two reasons, 1. Detonation, 2. The increased pressures possibly lift the head under boost? and create a blown headgasket. Now Lets say someone was running aftermarket aluminum heads. Wouldn't the heads flow way more and actually reduce the amount of boost thats going to be seen because its more efficient and make it less likely that someone will have to deal with headgasket problems/detonation, Also i do release tune has somthing to do with the detonation but wouldn't lower boost levels on a free flowing setup make it less likely to do so?

Im not sure what you said but , a tune lets you run more boost safely. I car with 12 psi and a good tune is probably safer then a car with 9 psi with a bad tune. Better flowing setup means less boost but boost isnt what makes pwoer, cfm does. I dont know what im writing about anymroe so ill stop now.

Better flowing heads help by scavenging exhaust gasses, and increasing air flow into the cylinder, under boost your forcefully increasing atmospheric pressure, so with a better head your increasing volume, as well as scavenging. This all goes in balance with cam timing; out of time or open or closed valves too fast or slow create detonation (pre-ignition). I know T - moss or Paul, or grady and a couple others on here can explain it much better than me, so we'll wait for them to chime in. I know what I want to say but dont know exactly how to explain it. Any way hope it helps a little
