dropped my gt off at the local fraud (ford) dealership to have my mm camber plates installed at 8 pm i just left 15 min ago and he still didnt even have one side installed yet? does it really take this long to install this stuff? i even printed out the instructions to read better he said it was a bicth cause he had to drill 4 holes to get then to install? and kit says only one hole needed to be drilled...sounds like i made a mistake bringing it there..anyone have any thoughts about the time it takes to install...and labor is like 85 an hour so im up to around 230 allready!

AFAIK, if you have the four bolt CC plate, then you will need to drill another hole. The stock plates are 3 bolt.

I have Steeda 3 bolt CC plates, and I had those installed (no drilling), and a set of springs in 5 hours at a local shop (cost was about $200 US).

I think it took an hour or so for the plates, but like I said ... there was no drilling with mine.

If drilling takes place, then I'm not sure how long it would take (although, obviously longer.) How long has it been at the shop so far and what is the progress now? Also, dealerships almost ALWAYS rip you off ... especially on installing aftermarket parts.

Good Luck.

Why would you have aftermarket parts installed at a Ford dealer?

Their labor rates are high, their techs are not the best (most not all!), and you are asking them to install a part that they are not familiar with...

Why didn't you either get them to quote a set price? or just do it yourself?

well my garage has about 5 inches of water in it from the wonderful northeast spring melting.and rain...so using the lift or power is out of question..guy at dealership works on the mustangs that go there had has experience installing these....its the service manager that said it will take hours and hours and they go by a book rate i was told what ford says it takes to do something...its 15 after 12 and its on the alignment rack but wont be ready to about 2 pm....and he said if they install wrong.. there responsible he didnt give me a price but i know the alignment costs 39.99... besides im tired of waiting for these to get installed...its either the snow so i cant drive my car to get it aligned. or wait a week to get alignment done quicker i get the suspension modified quicker i can move on to the supercharger phase.

Just because they dont get it done right away doesnt mean theres necessarily a problem. Yes, you are asking them to install something they NEVER deal with. Its much different putting aftermarket parts on then replacing stock stuff.

If you were sitting at the dealter WAITING for them to be installed, it would be a top priority. WAIT jobs always come before dropoff's. They probably just had other stuff that needed to get done first.
