May work out well for you. Here's some feedback I just got where it did not, but the combo is different from yours - yours is more intake side restricted.....

hey man i gotta get u the dyno graph of the rpm 2 compared to the explorer
with your lower ported, all i can say is your intake kills the rpm 2 i
lost 24 ftlbs of torque and 7 hp and under the curve the performer rpm2
could not compete on horsepoaer or tq the intake is coming off u will see
more when i get the graphs on the same chart, oh and the explorer is going
back on u should have good info to post and this was with nothing else
changed ill definetly recommend your porting to people thanks

I think with the stock MAM and shortie headers you are doing rather well.

RPM against an Explorer is quite abit different than what I'm doing. Not to mention long term will see my TWs & 75mm Pro-M being added along with the Street Heat. I can't imagine that my stock intake will outperform the Street Heat even with setup I have now, time will tell. What I want to see is what effect the intake has over the stocker then see how much more I can pull out of combo with some tuning. On my stroker I made 30 more rwhp just from tuning with the EEC.

I've seen a dyno comparing a ported Cobra vs. RPM w/AFR165s where the owner made same comment that he loss torque in lower rpms but if you look at his a/f graph it is very clear that he lost the torque from poor tuning. His combo made peak power at 12.8:1 and once the RPM setup hit this it made more than the ported Cobra. Do you have a copy of the two graphs, I'd be very curious to see the tune on both.
 
Just the first dyno with the Explorer intake which I have attached with his combo. By the way, this is with an AOD transmission, so FW numbers are a little higher than a 5 speed. He is going to send me the RPM2 dyno also.
 
Thanks Tom but no need to the first dyno graph doesn't have the a/f on it so I doubt it will be of any help. I'm trying to locate the example I'm talking about to show you but I have no way to post it. The first dyno w/Cobra had an a/f of 12.8:1 right across entire range (which seems to be where most poeple make max power with these heads) then when he switched to the RPM the lower rpms are richer until 3k or 3.5k where a/f hits 12.8:1 again and stays there. When it does power levels never drop below cobras so I'm not convinced that the RPM hurt lower rpms. That's why I'm going to reinstall my EEC tuner to make sure a/f is the same for both tests so it's a decent comparison.

Maybe the volume of air being deliverd into the cylinder is less than the Cobra in that rpm band and hence a richer mixture.
