I've always liked the sound of flows but I'm looking for something louder. I have to take the car in for emissions each year and I'm almost tempted to buy an o/r mid pipe or prochamber but I figure I could swap out the mufflers first before having to install/uninstall the midpipe for emissions testing. I've heard good things about spintech and flowtech? Anyone switched to these from flowmasters? I checked spintech's site and the systems are damn expensive, I guess they're not just cat-backs, they include the midpipe as well? I'm looking for volume to set off car alarms and wake the dead, ideas? I saw the exhaust thread from the other day but would really like to hear from people that have switched from flows if possible. But of course, all opinions are welcome...
Thanks

Someone posted a list on here the other day that showed what the noise level was of about 20 different systems and I think MAC was number 1 or 2 on the list. I haven't personally heard them on a car with cats, but without cats they are loud as hell and they don't have a rasp to them either.

I had Flowmasters, had Macs, and now have Spintechs...

I would say at idle the Flows and Macs are close, the Spintechs maybe a little quieter. At cruising speed they are all very similar in sound Db, with the Flows having that signature sound, the Macs being raspier and louder, and the Spintechs having a really hollow tone to them. Up top it might be my new midpipe but the Spintechs scream. To me they seem louder then both the Mac and the Flows I had previousely.

Spintechs sound awesome in person, but weird when filmed and put on the internet =T...Edelbrock SDTs sound nice as well...similar to Flows.

I heard flows lost it's patent, so a lot of companies are running similiar designs
