LOUDEST MUFFLER/NOT DEEP

I've got Spintech Pro Streets. I found their website online...ordered easily over the phone...they came promptly. However, it sounded SWEET for a few weeks...now it just sounds like ass at cruise. Nothing is loose inside....doesn't seem like a baffle broke..but I don't know. The sound changed entirely in the 2000-3500 rpm range.

It sounds WICKED at idle though...like ungodly. I've had a few people ask me about it....sounds very dragster-like. Deep, flat, loud, and slightly metallic....and when you really rev it up, it sounds UNREAL. When I first got them on I romped it twice through a residential neighborhood......my mistake....and I had neighbors actually RUN outside their houses cursing at me threatening to call the cops.

My only complaint is for just cruising around, it sounds ****ty in the drone-range... Real burbly and metallic and raspy. But in the high revs....it's like nothing you've heard before.

What brand of x pipe do you have?

I'd tell you but I didn't put it in... Previous owner installed it, I've never removed it to be able to read the plate welded onto it.

I can say this much...it's a very clear and definited, smooth X....not like most X pipes I see...it's a smoother curve, more true to shape. And across the center joint it's got a square plate on it. But that's all I can see from underneath.

The only problem your going to run into with the spintechs and it was mentioned above is that this will sound almost identical to the flows at cruising speeds. They have the same type of baffle construction as flows, which in turn leads to very similar sound characteristics. Another vote for the magnopacks right here. They are the sickest sounding muffler at WOT but they have an awesome tone at idle and just crusing. good luck man

They look pretty different if you ask me

I really like the Dynomax magnum glasspacks i have now...they came with the car and im not really a fan of glasspack buts they scream like hell at WOT, and burble like it has a really big cam at idle. It DOES give me headaches if i drive for more than an hour straight, but it might be my subs doing that.

Youre not gonna get better than Spintechs. They sound great that CJ stang run movie hits it right. I have them on my 351 Windsor it sounds a lot like that video except deeper. I have it in conjunction with a Dr. Gas X-pipe and Hooker Headers. It Idles mean just like in that vid. Makes it sound like a raspy H-pipe even though I have an X-pipe. And when you give it some R's. Those things wind up loud cause of the X-pipe. Very unique sound too. I've never heard any negative things about them except that they are too loud. I have a vid but my dad is too lazy to show me how to get it off the Camcorder.

Another vote for Spintech Prostreets...they're loud and I love them..although now that I'm used to the sound, I think they could be louder...but that's not the mufflers, that's the factory cats.

Why is it that whenever someone on this post says they're tired of their Flows, there's always someone else popping up saying that Flows are the "end all be all" of mufflers and that replacing them would be a big mistake...I mean c'mon people, Flows sound good but there are other companies out there that make mufflers...plus it's a real shame how much these flows rust...although they have introduced stainless recently.

And the glasspack cherry bombs sound sweet as hell on some hot rods at the local Bobs Big Boy on Friday nights so I'd love to hear that setup on an O/R pipe.

Just my .02, I have an off-road H-pipe and sadly enough....summit 2-chambers. They are officially bad-ass, even with off-set inlet and outlet I can still see through them, I started the car without the cat back, then with....immediately laughed because there was no difference. VERY loud, a little deep, not ricey, can set off car alarms with the dumps at idle. But with piping out of the back, or now (w/dumps) at full throttle they just absolutely scream, most people wont race me, I have been told it is very intimidating, if only they knew the reality :nonono: . This is on my mostly stock 4.6L, so with a more modified larger motor, probably more bad-ass :D .

Cherry bombs? omg, go home buddy. that the sickest thing ive ever heard. First of all stick with flowmasters, there the best **** out there. Run an h-pipe take off your RESTRICTING cats and get a pair of original 40 series. TRUST me THEY'LL SOUND HORNY!
flowmaster is one of the worst mufflers on the market to put on a mustang super turbo's out flow them pick some thing else

i put a set of dynomax bullets with tail's on mine one time and you could here it about a mile away (took the of because they were just to loud)

I LOVED the sound of my car open-X...but I lost MAJOR power.

I wonder how it would run/sound running straight-pipe off the X..but reducing it to 2 or 2 1/4 inch, with turndowns...
had the same effect with warlock bypass muffler..... sounded like *****, way too loud , kinda like a tractor Total bust too.

I don't know about that...i've read quite a few on this site,lol.

I think it's just because people are tired of Flowmasters on Mustangs. In my book they still sound the best, classic 5.0 sound. They'll flow plenty for what HP most of us on here are pushing. If they do flow bad (which I extremely doubt) most of us need the back pressure. Alot of peple on here also have the misconception that they need the most open exhaust they can get. Truth is they aren't even close to needed that much flow and will hurt they're performance.

Flowmaster also makes race mufflers for higher HP applications. I just think a statement like that about a truely good product like Flowmaster is uncalled for and misinformed.

If you want something loud and cheap then go with glass packs. Sounds like that something you're looking for. And the bright side of it that their so cheap and you decide that you don't want them then you've wasted like 50-100 and you can try a muffler instead. No biggie
