I emailed Cervinis about a 00 Cobra R hood for my car, since my hood's paint looks like crap (I swear I got a "re-paint" when I bought the car), and here's what my shipping price came out to:

Hood: $459.00 (reasonable, I think)
Shipping: $359.73

ACK!!!!!!

Like I said, lucky we live Hawaii. I think I'd be better off buying the OEM hood from Ford and just having them bring it in with a regular shipment.

I'm wondering if she accidently added an extra $200.00 in there somewhere lol

I think that price is outrageous. For one, the hood is fiberglass so it can't weigh that much. Also, although it's a big box (shipping wise), it still can't cost that much even via UPS/Fed Ex.

Eeeek that's alot of money to pay for shipping!
The Cervini hoods are top quality though.
Can't wait to see pics.

i get a 75% shipping discount with FedEx. I shipped my heavy ass McLeod clutch to Stangless for like......$25 I think it was??? It was 2 or 3 day Express service too. If I use FedEx Ground the initial rates are much lower, so the discounted rates are pretty sweet.

If you can give me the dimensions and weight of the package (guesstimate) I can give you a guesstimate quote to HI, if you're interested that is. You would have to find out how much it would be for Cervini's to ship it to me, then from me to you, add that up and see if it would even be worth it. I wouldnt want anything out of it, just offering to help you out if I can. Stangless can vouch for what an honest, sexy bitch I am

Dont feel bad, a company wanted 350 for a hood for my 66....and like 250 shipping! We FINALLY after like 10 minutes of haggling with the guy to let us talk to his boss, got him to connect us
over.

US, " Hey your sales person sucks, we spent like 10 minutes trying to talk with you! He said shipping was $250 to Texas and we just dont think thats right...I payed $180 for my forged shortblock to be shipped for the same distance"

BOSS "well me me check...the shipping comes out to $230...he was only $20 off. Reason its so high is because gas prices are up since last year"

Us, "Bull crap, and what do you mean 'ONLY' $20 off! Sorry but you will NEVER get our buisness again, and we will tell all of our mustang buddies to not shop with you either....that is no way to conduct a buisness"

He was jacking us around too lol, just smelled of "RIP OFF" and you could tell that he didnt give a crap.

http://www.mrbodykit.com/bodykits/hoods99_04.htm

shipping is $190 or so. Brandon, ICblk01GT, bought his VIS CF cowl hood from there high $700 total.

Anyways, I called him today, and he said Allen is going to be installing blower cams, valve springs, and a tune for far less than what my other friend was quoted. I asked another friend of mine if he could install them, but he has to check with his friend first on what to charge. I'll let you know what it comes out to, but hopefully not too much.

And Joe Moore is the man!http://youtube.com/watch?v=cfNuk6eL49M

BTW, don't buy the cobra r hood, I was gonna buy that

That's labor for the cams and springs, and then a tune? Damn, still seems expensive, but at least the price is going down.
