MAC cat back

I HAD Flowmaster 2 chambers.

I HAD Mac mufflers and tails.

I HAVE Spintech Pro streets.

It's all a personal thing, but out of the 3 I tried (the flows and macs sounded very very similar with the LTs and Prochamber) I prefer the Spintechs with the Xpipe.

QUIET - LOUD - LOUDEST
Magnaflow - Flowmaster - MAC

I have the MAC's, right now, replaced an old set of Flow's. I actually preferred the Flowmasters. They were a bit quieter and had a more mellow tone. The MAC's are loud and all out brutal, but a lot of guys like that! The Magnaflows are probably the best made muffler/exhaust out there, with 304 stainless, but they are a very quiet performance exhaust. It all depends on what you are looking for. When I have the money, I will be qoing for the Magnaflows, for their superior construction and quiet sound. I guess I am getting old!

I only had Macs twice. My 92 had turndowns before the axle and the car was just insainly loud.
My Cobra (96) I bought them to replace Magnaflows that had rusted out. With the stock headers, MAC O/R H-pipe and the MAC catback that car was easily my most favorite sounding V-8 ever. I loved the deep tone of that car and how subdued it was at idle yet how it barked at WOT. :nice:
They made that DOHC just sing!

I'm surprised nobody ever uses Hooker Maximum Flow mufflers on Mustangs. I've had them on three different cars and always loved the sound, but I decided to try something different when I scored my Pypes Violators a few years back and I'm kinda attached to 'em. Maybe whenever they rust out (I got the early non-stainless versions), I'll throw a set on there. Stuff tends to not rust AT ALL out here, but I was surprised to find that those MAC mufflers that were on my notch when I got it were so internally corroded that some of the baffles were rolling around inside of there when I pulled them off. Poor welds, maybe?

Got my mac catback on today, with lontube and o/r h-pipe sounds amazing. For some odd reason 50resto sent me 2 sets of mufflers. This guy aint mad about that. Shwing

Mac cat-back with a vrs o/r xpipe and mac shorty headers. Ran this setup for years, and the sound still puts a smile on my face when I slam the gas down. Ran it through my stocker setup, h/c/i setup, and my gone through motor setup and it just keeps sounding nastier the more power I give the car.:D
