Just too ashamed to admit you were outsmarted by a 16 yr old... not all of us have rice boxes.

Damn you are a bitch, just cause you didn't know jack **** about cars at my age and probably drove a POS you are a lil jealous.

My grandfather was an engineer for Ford for 35+years, my dad has a mechanical engineering degree but decided to go into the computer industry instead, but as a side hobby we toy with **** that ain't working and get it working. Not many 16 yr olds have 3 rebuilds under their belt...

The rebuild kit is correct to get the tracloc back in action. When the gears are about to go in make sure to talk to the install shop regarding your wants. Make sure to secure the proper speedo gear to correct for the new ratio...they often will have access to them. Once the clutches in the tracloc are installed and the gear is in place you should be without rear end worries for quite some time. If the shop finds the axles are worn/damaged, 50 resto sells a nice replacement set slightly harder for 99 bucks..thats hard to beat.

Theres a method to the madness about keeping the stock h and headers on a stock 5.0. Its "Back Pressure". Because of the design of the heads the motor needs backpressure which makes the low end torque. OK, I would take 2 chambered flows over a straight through pipe because "of" the chambers. It adds more back pressure. Not to mention I had bullets with an off rd h with and without tail pipes. Loud? Oh yeah!! But it didnt sound like a 5.0 anymore! I had my E-7's worked on bt Thumper. THEN the stock h was choking the motor so I put a catted x pipe on and it free'd up some power!1

"backpressure" is really velocity, restricting the exhaust with cats does not give you more "backpressure"

And to the original poster, just the gears will not fix the problem you want to go ahead and rebuild everything in there while your in there. When I did mine, I got the gears, master bearing kit, axle bearings, and a trac lock rebuild. To install all this will probably cost about 250 bucks but its one of the best mods you cant do, itll be worth it. But if your just looking to get your rear end fixed just get the trac lock rebuild and it sholudnt be bad to have it installed. I wouldnt mess with installing stuff in my rear end, too much measuring easy to mess something up, id go ahead and have a s hop do it. Heres some links to the kids, this is where I got my stuff.

I didnt read it all, but saying an off road H will hurt a car is plain rediculous. A cam, that will hurt and otherwise stock car, an off road mid pipe will help it sound better, breathe better and run harder. 4 crappy small 2 1/4" cats will NOT make more power or better "back pressure" than a 2 1/2" off road mid pipe...

WOW makes me wonder how some of these poeple get around in the world!

YOU keep a stock H on your car and Ill run my LTs, O/R X and catback and we will gladly see who comes to the finish line first !
