hey guys, right now I have flowmaster dual chambers( I think) and I don't like how it has a really bad drone at 2000 rpm, I like the sound but other than the 2000 rpm drone its pritty quiet. I'm planning on getting mac pro dumps, how would these sound compared to the flowmaster mufflers?

Also I'm trying to find a way to run an off road h pipe without it being noticable by either taking the cats off my h pipe now and gutting them and running a pipe through them or just save up and get the mac pro chamber, Do these have cats in them? I get my exhaust checked all the time just as an excuse to pull me over. Is it really that worth it to get an off road h pipe to wait to spend money on that or would it be spent better elsewhere?
Thanks in advance

Pro dumps are just MAC Flowpaths with dumps pre-welded to the back of them. I used to run dumped Flowpaths...that'll give you an idea of the sound. I ran them with a Prochamber as well. Here's a clip:

Here's another one of me leaving a cruise in...just for good measure :D

As for the cats, don't play around, just get an H with high flow cats or something if you're getting stopped that often.

sounds good and thanks for the clips
how was the drone compared to flowmasters? and does the prochamber have a cat in the center or is that just a corssover?

Drone is much much better than Flows but still very much there. The Pro Chamber is pretty much open inside...not a cat at all, just a crossover. It is available with cats but it's pretty expensive.

I have the MAC pro dumps. The sound is very annoying IMO. They drone like crazy at cruising speeds and are pretty loud inside the car. I suggest that you get a ride with someone that has them before buying a set. However, they are cheap so you can always just give them a shot.

no one around me has anything like it. theres only one other foxbody mustang and his is just like mine with the 2 chamber flows. Would mac equal length headers and a higher flowing x pipe do anything to the drone? I'm planning on going with all 2.5 in piping from Mac equal length 1 5/8 headers, to some kind of catted h or x pipe then the the mac pro dumps

are there any x or h pipes with converters that i can get that are somewhat cheep, I can't find any under $400

I plan to purchase the full-lengths and a X-pipe with high-flow cats. I'm hoping that it changes the sound beacause I really like the simplicity and clean look of the dumps on my '86.

Basically the pro-dumps have a loud, consistant bass sound in the cabin. I equate this sound to a drone. I don't know any other way to describe it, but it sounds like crap.

foxfan88 your mustang sounds great, i love how it has a really deep tone.

I don't mind the drone so much but with the flows its a really tinny drone like it sounds like tin cans, i wouldn't mine it at all if it didn't sound so tinny. And for it to be at its loudest at 2000-2500 rpm is stupid I think.

I like the sound of really deep bassey exhaust, more like the 60-70s muscle cars. will these give me that sound?

also should i buy a high flow catted mid pipe or could the money be spent better elsewhere?

thanks for all your help
