I saw a thread a few weeks ago about a guy who made a Mach 1 chin spoiler from some door weatherstripping/moulding he got at Home Depot. The pics he posted looked decent. And it was cheap -- like $10 of something.
I lost the link to the thread, does anyone have it?

just spend the 80 bucks at MT and do it right the first time.

Well, it actually didn't look bad. And since New England Winter + FRPP "C" Springs + winter driving = trashed $80 Chin spoiler, I thought this might be an acceptable alternative.

Doesn any one have a link along with the expected wise-ass comments? :D

Interesting :)

You drive your car in the winter up in New England? With all the salt they
put down on the roads? I'd never drive mine there for the salt. Actually
I don't drive it here in Pa when the salt is down until it's been washed away.
Yes, I used to live in Mass so I know what it's like there in winter.

That's it. Thanks.

Now -- can any of you "Bob Vila" types identify the type of weatherstripping he used? I can't quite figure it out from "the kind that comes in rolls with a split in the middle"....

No problem! :nice:

And for whoever asked about it being floppy, if you read the thread he says it's very firm.

Looks just fine to me? I've noticed a lot of people here will dismiss or frown upon anything home made or that doesn't cost an arm and a leg to build or buy, just because it’s not piece that was officially “sanctioned” for a Mustang. That’s fine….while they’re pissing away their money on high dollar stuff like that to give them that “official” piece of mine, I’ll use the money I save on something more worth while and continue to blow their doors off. :)

I too would like to know what that moulding/weatherstrip is called, or even a part number. I went all over town one day looking for it, and everyone pointed to me to crap that wasn't even close. The closest thing I found was a weatherseal/draftguard thing for thin aluminum doors, and that was only 3 feet long, and not wide enough.
