Mach460 is buggin me now

Its startin to act funny. ive noticed sometimes it wont eject the CD until i try a buncha times pressin stop / play...... stop /play. Anyone else have problems with the way theirs act. Sometimes it doesn't read the cd right away either. I know their has been reported problems with this, but just curious if this all sounds to familier with anyone else

I know a guy who took the headunit and CD player from a 99 GT and that solved the problem. I think in later years they fixed that problem.

Why not use a nice aftermarket HU? You still keep the factory amps, and all that. I have the Mach running off an Alpine.

Well I can't speak for him, but I know I like the way the stock head unit blends into the interior and like having the seperate CD player to take up that space.

just get a new headunit, and then in that empty space put a gauge pod that they sell on ebay. since its down low it wont be that noticable but still can tell its aftermarket. thats what i am going to do in that space when i get money.

you can always go kenwood, and get a real nice equalizer / tape deck which fills up the lower slot and looks mint (completely flat, cant see the tape opening, just see the eq and the flashy designs), which runs with the kenwood cd deck for the upper slot. i used to have that setup but ended up selling it for the sony i have now, and i just have a pocket down below. i think either way looked better than stock, and as mentioned you can still keep the factory amps and everything running, and the sony deck really makes the speakers sound good.

i have the same problem, sometimes.

sometimes i can push the eject button once and it will pop right out. other times i would have to push it like 10 times.

i'm more than happy with the stock mach460 unit. i'm not too crazy about my stereo. i'm focusing on performance for my car for now

In this case you can. I like the way the Mach sits in with the interior it looks nice. I think aftermarket headunits maybe able to do more but its gonna look more tacky IMO. Plus the sound of the mach 460 is more the enough for my needs. I suppose maybe in the future ill look into a aftermarket but i really wouldn't want too

Cool it's good to know I'm not alone

I love the sound of the Mach 460. When I bought my 94 GT Convertable it came with a Panasonic 8 CD Player, located in the trunk. The only change for me is that I now have this small...4 to 5inch wide by about 2 1/2"high controller that sits in front of stick. It takes me quite awhile too get sick of all 8 CD's. Everything runs off the stock Mach 460 equipment. It's a great set-up!

I had the same setup with my car with the cd changer and the stock HU. I went and got an alpine HU to match the CD changer and then was able to get rid of the RF modulator and the small display.

mine works fine, and i've satisfied with it. it sounds good. Maybe in the furture (way furture) i'd change the mach out, but right now its good for me.
