hi guys. i am doing some research for a friend. he has a 98 v6 with a set of longtubes, X pipe, magnaflow cat-back, CAI and a zex kit. he is looking to add a few more HP for an affordable price.
I was thinking that i read somewhere that you can add a lightning MAF meter on a v6 and pickup some HP.
a MAF and a t-body are just about the rest of the basic mods left on the car before he starts to rip into heads/cam/intake.

I would doubt he is pegging the stock MAF on his car with those mods.

About getting a larger MAF, the adapter might be different(no biggie), but what injectors would he be running because Lightning's come with 42 lb setups and some calibration would be in order.

Any decent chasis dyno shop could easily see how the MAF is doing in that regard.

I have tuned a few V6's with SCT software and I gain typically 10+rwhp/20+rwtq over mail order tunes. Just get the car tuned with what he has now...once you have the chip, it is only reflashing which is easy and does not take long.

I dont think that he is maxing out the MAF that he has now, but i wanted to see if there was a cheap $100 +/- mod that he could do by swapping the MAF to a lightning one and maybe pick up a few HP.
