Making my own hood

Is yours fiberglass or all steel? looks good. peace

john:p

Thanks mine is all steel. The reason I ask is my total cal is about 3" and i had to take all the stock supports out for the 2 tiers. I have it all painted now so I cant really weld on it anymore. But i did put some louvers in the back piece of steel. I dont know if that causes problems with pressure areas but it looks good :D

Went up and did a little more work on it.Ran out of bondo, but cut out the full amount of the cowl. Here is what it looks like on the underside.Still need to deside what i'll do for support or if any is needed and also how or what to do to clean it up some.Heres the pics for now till i get up to bens and bondo more on thursday.

Wow, that actually looks really good. I'll have to make final judgment once it's done and on your car, but right now I'd say it looks better than a lot of the store-bought hoods. Great work.

BTW, it's called a NACA duct- the scoop you're thinking about doing. It was actually developed by the government division that eventually became NASA, and has found its way into a lot of airplane and race car designs, and of course the early Mach 1s.

I have a secret fantasy of putting one in the front passenger side fender near where the air filter sits. Well, I guess it's not a secret anymore. Anyway, I've seen one other Fox with that, and it totally blew me away. I think it's a really freaking cool idea.
