Just happened upon this rare piece on Marketplace. 351w Trick Flow box R with Aeromotive rails and 42# injectors. Guy threw in a billet flywheel and index plate as well. Winning

Headed to my hunting spot about an hour away. Got T-boned out of nowhere. 22yr old kid was driving a late 90's F150,he didn't make it This truck saved my life. I have bruised ribs on my right side from the console getting pushed into me,but that's it. Count your lucky stars, say your I love you's every day, this could have easily turned out WAY worse.

Jesus, glad you are ok, and as said so sad about the other driver.

Is that a Tacoma? I’ve seen some gnarly crashes posted on Tacomaworld, they seem to protect the driver very well.

I've had the 351w back from the machine shop for a minute. Time to get going on it. Need a semi-warm day so I can pressure wash and do my own final clean. Then get the block prepped for paint, thinking of going with grey. Picked up a 4r70w as well, still on the fence about going auto but just makes more sense.

Thought I'd tackle the rear axle housing bushings and new upper control arms with the nice weather we had today. Got the uppers out, then started the process with the MM tool on the housing bushings. And here's where I'm at now, with a stripped bolt. I'll say,MMs instructions arent real clear, even watched their video

Some good advise on how to remove them in this thread:

https://www.corral.net/threads/wtb-maximum-motorsports-8-8-upper-control-arm-bushing-removal-tool.1125868/

Two things I got from it was if you are going to use the MM tool to remove them you need to hit the flange of the bushing with a chisel so it collapses inward. I guess this gets some of the pressure off. It seems that the better way is to just use an air chisel and BFH to remove and the MM tool to install. I like the idea of freezing the entire bushing over night and using some light oil to help them install.

Back to your issue though. The only think I can think of is a sawzall with a good blade to cut that Grade 8 bolt.

Got the bolt cut out,had to cut it twice because not enough room to remove after the head was cut off. So,MMs instructions are IMO. They don't tell you several things, which I figured out after this debacle. Mainly, the bolt WILL run out of threads, hence the reason I stripped it. I watched a few Youtube vide that gave WAY more info than MMs vid

I was under the impression the best way to do these uppers is to replace them. they come with the bushings installed....

The bushings are installed on the end that attaches to the car in the TQ boxes, but the bushings on the axle end are attached to the axle, that's what he's trying to replace.
