Ok my last thread turned more into help me with the issues than help advise me to build from here. My motor is the m6007x302. Forged pistons, 9:1 gt40x heads, 1.6 roller rockers, e303, holley systemax upper n lower, 24lb injectors, 70mm tb and 75mm Maf. Tremec 5 speed, 3.73 gears bbk shortys, off road X and edlebrock mufflers. Most of this was on the car when I bought it. My question is...without breaking the bank AND keeping the car reliable...what can I do for more hp from here? Thanks in advance. Im open to anything really.

How much power are you looking for? Other than swapping out cam etc you would need a power adder(blower, turbo, nitrous). A good custom cam would probably net you a better powerband with more avg power across the board. But we're talking only maybe 10-25 rwhp and maybe .2-.5 sec in 1/4 mile performance. Throw a better head into the equation and there is more potential power. The x heads are a descent head but leave a lot to be desired in air flow. The most logical direction I would go in is a Vortech blower with the proper MAF,inj, fuel pump and a tune. Easily capable of anywhere from 350-500rwhp.

I eventually will build a more strip than street turbo set up from the ground up. Motor, trans, suspension..all of it. I guess I'm trying to get what I can from this motor and still make somewhat financial sense vs just not touching this...driving it for a couple of years as it sits and starting the build with the money I would put towards making a little more with this motor. Had considered nitrous but..not a bunch of experience with it and hate the thought of detonation eating a piston in the car that I drive often. Thinking maybe suspension and tires would be a better route. Im not sure. Supercharger, by the time I pay for a tune, supporting fuel mods etc...id probably be looking around what...4k? Or do you guys know something I dont?

No you're about right(actually a little low lol). I have run nitrous on and off for years. If that is an option I say go for it! Nitrous is no more a danger than any other power adder be it blower or turbo. Run the proper supplied jets, good fuel(91-93oct),and the proper heat range on your spark plugs(1 step cooler w/75-100 shot and 2 steps for 125-150). I've ran stock timing w/150 shot and some 93/99oct mixed fuel 50/50) but if just running 93 I'd take out 2* of timing. The only problems with nitrous is you don't have the power all the time. It's a pain to get refills in some areas and only really useful at the track. A full tank usually lasted me about 6-8 pulls. Just remember if you're going to add some serious power(arguably anything around 500rwhp) you're going to need an aftermarket engine block. Turbos seem to be a little easier on blocks than blowers/or high rpms.

Not sure I understand exactly what you're wanting. Are you wanting some cheap HP for right now to get you by until a bigger better build later? Or are you wanting to shave a couple more tenths off your 1/4 mile time?

Your heads and cam are mild. They could be upgraded but do you want to redo your entire top end minus the intake? More displacement would help too. There really is no cheap HP solution for you but you could also easily sell your heads to recoup your investment in better heads.

Either get new heads or port the X heads
custom cam
get long tube headers and mid pipe
delete accessories if this will be mostly a strip car, less street.

If you want to shave some time of your 1/4 mile time then you should focus on suspension and traction.

Well..I'm thinking I'll just put my money into a GOOD block and begin a new motor. (slow process but itll be the best route) however...i bottom out on almost all bumps in the rear and I can tell it sits low. Although the PO swears they're stock springs. That said, what would your recommendation be for a decent spring and or shock combo? If I go that route.

Strange engineering adj struts and shocks are nice pieces. Reasonably priced and you can set the stiffness. I have them on my car and compared to Eibachs and KYB (the only other 2 I've had) they are way better. Good chance the shocks are worn out in back and the springs are probably a little soft. What size wheel and tire do you have? Also I recommend posting further questions in the talk section. Seems to be more activity in there and you'll get more feedback. Also don't know the rest of your cars details but remember that if you're adding significant power you'll need to address the entire car I.E. Trans, fuel system, brakes, suspension, etc.

Its got 17x8s up front which rub pretty good on the fronts under sharper corners. 17x9s on the rear. Not by the car so dont remember the tire sizes off the top of my head.
