Well, it's time for me to get a new set of ET's. Now the questions, would it hurt my times if I got something like a 28x11.5 or 27x10.5? The main reason I want something a little bigger is so my front tires won't look about the same diameter. Pointless, but I want to fill in the rear tire wells a little more. My mods are in the sig.

Biggest I have seen on a streetable car are the 26x10.5 ET streets, and they usually look like a real tight fit. I have 275-59-15 Drag Radials on ten holes that just barely fit, although this is with some lowering.

Off topic, but I also have a 79 Capri Ghia, original 5.0, now retired from being hot rodded. Had it for 22 years. I got the Mustang to build. Good to see another Capri around.

i would only go to a taller tire if you need to. changing to the 27" will make your gears seem like 3.60's because they are 3.3% taller. the 28"s will make your gears feel like 3.47's because they are 6.8% taller. it all depends on what you want though.

I think I'll probably just go with the 27x10.5's since I plan on putting in some 4.10's shortly anyways. The 26's don't seem to fill in the tire well much. Plus since I have lift bars, I don't have to worry about my tires rubbing when I launch.
