Your car looks great, and you're making great progress. Not real fond of the running horse, but that's just my opinion...

The cobra insert looks better on a GT bumper in my opinion.

Long time ago I was lucky to have a buddy going to tech school for body work. He repainted my chipped bumper and plastic welded (or whatever the term is) one of those inserts in so it is seamless. Going on 20 years. I like the look better.

That's the only hesitation i have. Seems natural on a GT bumper because 93 cobras come that way. Hard to find the grill on LX's so it's a bit more "unusual"

Any more pics from a slight side angle?

I guess I don't necessarily need to install this insert now. It can be cut in at a later date when the car is done.

Sadly no. I just dug through all my pictures and don't seem to have one. The car is in storage currently. I may be able to get a picture in a day or two.

Cool. Don't go out of your way. Google has plenty of pics to sort through.

Ended up buying the NOS ford emblem. I'll just go that route for now and stick the Cobra grill on my shelf where it's been for the last 10 years while i continue to think about it.

Sounds good. I see the point of looking most at home with the GT bumper. I don't care for the default installation of just double stick taping it to the bumper so was glad to have someone do it at the time.

When I was younger I was annoyed at the lack of the running horse on these cars. So I was bound and determine to incorporate it including putting the anniversary badge on the dash.

Hate that you have to cut the grill to install it. You’ve said many times about doing mods that you can reverse. That’s a tough reversal once you make that cut!!

I know. That’s what’s holding me back. It’s like the 417 Fox DD radio. I love the concept, but it’s an irreversible mod. My fear is 2-3 years down the road I’ll change my mind and not be able to go back.

I’ve decided to not do the grill. Now to work on installing this bumper.

This might be one of the cleanest cars I've ever seen, even on the internet...

Yup. That’s the unit. I haven’t heard much good about the aftermarket ones in terms of longevity. Amazon and eBay reviews have been terrible. I really suggest getting an oem unit and one of the later modules.

This is one of the better modules

And this one comes with two of the plugs and is the updated module

Those damn plugs are a brunt of the cost.

I’d see if you can get that $30 module for $20-25 and then just buy the plugs separate or go check out a boneyard for some mid2000s Mazda’s/Mitsubishi’

It's more for aftermarket ECU control and gives you finer control over what the fan is doing. You just need to run 1 single wire from the ECU to this module and then program what you want it to do. It also features "soft-start" so that when the fan goes on, it ramps up slowly, which limits the current the fan draws. No voltage spike.

Without an ECU to control it, there's really no way to use the module short of building something like an Arduino reading the ECT sensor. It's not stand-alone.

Well, now I’m really curious….
Years back I mocked up and bench tested a variable speed fan controller, using an arduino, and ECT signal.
Worked perfect on the bench, but car died before I could put it on the road…

So, what signal are you sending to it? Using arduino?
You probably have this all documented….

Edit:
Just found the thread you did, good stuff!
I may play with using an arduino to supply the pwm. This could be a feature rich, and easy setup, for cheap, lol.
Thanks for the info!
