Like prepping for surgery.

Both studs got a few tacks. Ran a thread die down to clean them up. Should be good to go to put the carpet back in….again.

Carpet and console back in. Console was a bit tighter than I’d like due to the added foam, but it goes in.

Still a few more pieces to add back in.

I managed to extract that broken bolt that I snapped off in the rear console bracket 20 years ago. Chased the threads, new paint and riveted back down.

You might have noticed I have the guage cluster surround and console trim off.

Those parts are off an 87-89 car since I’m using the 87-89 warning lights and the 87-89 tilt. One thing that always bugged me is the color of these never completely matched the 90-93 black. So I’m going to dye them.

The guage cluster surround that I was using was one I got off eBay a few years back as my original had the typical 5” tach holes in the side. After comparing both of the surrounds, my original is in better condition.

So I need to fix this, and then paint it.

Don’t ask why I put a 5” tach on an AOD car.

What’s your plan to get the texture in the repair areas?

Prepped and started to paint some of the console trim.

Here’s a shot of the newly painted trim on the 87-89 surround in its natural shade. It’s more of a charcoal, blueish tint. I think dark black will look a lot cleaner.

Tried it. Had wheel hop. Back they went.

My suspension setup has changed since that pic anyway. Even measured pinion angle. Stil had it. I’ll leave them it’s less work.
probably the metco upper and lower arms I got, they were top of the line way back.
they were said to be 400x as strong as stock .I can drop the clutch at 4,500 and zero hop.

Anybody experience the quads rubbing against the main shock when flipped? I too have the MM control arms and should just remove them, but its something about “they’re supposed to be there”.
However I couldn’t care less that all my smog stuff is gone.
I guess I should just take them off!

Oh looks like Ive finally come down with the VID. Flu and VID within 3 weeks of each other. Fun times.

4-year old and wife had it for a hot minute over the weekend. Stepson is still Covid free but he’s been all over us. Only a matter of time. I have a fever but I’m continuing to do stuff…..mostly WFH and helping the wife keep her sanity with a house full of kids who can’t return to school yet.

I’m bumming because I could have a fully assembled car by now and working on ironing out the kinks. That’s mostly because my wife will lose her :poo: if I disappear to the garage right now ;)
