Wrapped up some more stuff. Pulled the drivers door panel and installed kilmat in there. Reinstalled it. Put in new dash speakers (I had OEM speakers in) and wired in the doors (doors and rear are alpine speakers). Only thing left on the drivers side is that knee panel. Should be ready tomorrow.

Tossed the junk SN95 seat in for now. I don’t want to put wear and tear on the Recaro just yet. The pass side can go in though. Amazing how much more rigid the drivers seat is now that I fixed the floor pan crack and have it bolted to the subframe connectors.

New sill plates are a subtle touch. Floor mate needs a few passes with the bissel spot cleaner

Oh, the cassette player didn’t work well for some reason. The sound was muffled. So the CD player went back in. Metallica CD to test it out. Sounds like 1993.

Discovered my hatch light doesn’t work. Not getting 12v when the doors/hatch is open. I must have cut something when I wired in the 92-93 latch on the hatch. I’ll have to poke around.

Not much left here, but then I need to set the alignment and finish adjusting the fenders/bumper/hood. I’m not quite happy with that yet.

My center console felt a little loose, so I pulled it apart and found two of the mounting clips for the inner cover to be busted. So I glued those up.

Back in the car.

Nope, not at all. I wouldn't even consider the SEM paint to really be like a typical spray paint. For one, it lays on differently. It also dries in minutes. You can do several thin coats, have it cover quite well, and have it completely dried in 10 mins.

Not that you want to rush it....

Hardest part is finding the right color that matches what you are doing.

Agreed on finding the right color. Because of how well it has worked for me on my Saleen, I am going to attempt to use SEM bumper paint to repaint the titanium GT skirts on my 89 this summer.

Your car is looking nice by the way. Nice work:nice:

Quick pass over the mats with the Bissel. This thing is nice. I can’t wait to have some time to do my DD and really clean up the carpet.
Dirty carpet drives me nuts.

These mats are 10 years old. Yes, I don’t drive much but I’ve been stepping all over them while working on this car.

Buttoned up the pass side. Too hot/humid here (by MA standards) to open the garage and back car out so I did it all from the drivers side

Kick panel and sill plate in alone with clean mats

Painted up a spare set of speaker grills. The ones in the car are the 87-89 charcoal, so let’s see how pure black looks

Wanted to test fit a few wheels.

Never checked the spare for fit, so threw it on.

Wanted to check my cosmis wheel fit with the fender back on the car. I was curious to see how far out it would protrude. One of the reasons why i took the ATS brembos off is because I needed a spacer for this rim to clear. I had a feeling it would already be sticking out.

Looking from the top down, there is some poke. I have the camber set aggressively here as the hood struts don't clear the C/C plates unless i do. (i'll need to fix that but that's a later post). Ideally the camber will be more nuetral than this, so the top of the rim will stick out a tad. If i add a spacer to clear the ATS brembo, it will be even worse.

This is straight down, so the bottom of the rim is a good 1/2" past the fender. If i set camber to 0 the top would be as well. This is driver's side fender looking straight down towards the ground showing the bottom edge of the rim sticking past it

Clearance on the coilover is tight as well. Should really run a spacer.

I ony have two of these Cosmis wheels. COsmis discontinued the XT005R and said they were going to rerelease them this summer with a new machining process and new offsets. We will have to wait and see what those are and see if they have an 18x9 that's a tad bit deeper for the front. I could go back to 94-95 spindles and just run the longer bumpsteer setup, but that only gains me 5mm which I don't think is enough to bother with here. Stay tuned.

For now, once i get the front fenders properly aligned and the inner fender liners back in, i'll put the polished 01 cobra style wheels back on. That's the only set of wheels i have with good tires.

With the reflection in the paint (that is paint and not some kind of liquid reflective coating) it took several minutes to hone in on what I was looking at, the white stripe, you and all the stuff in the reflection I was confused.
now I have a headache. I hate really shiny paint

I agree. That pic is confusing if you don't know the perspective.

When this is all done, my paint needs some heavy paint correction. The last two years have added some chips/scratches but for the most part it's a good 10-footer. It just really needs a good cut and buff.

Not being critical, and it's probably just me but I feel the horse is upside down on the sill plates? It feels like it should be facing forward as you view it from seated inside the car. Your car looks amazing!

I thought so too, but the sills only fit one way. The horse isn’t really visible at all from inside the car between the door armrest and the bolster on the Recaro.

Looking around, it seems sill plates for mustangs and other cars all have the logo visible outward.

Oh…I threw the other seat in. I couldn’t wait and I wanted it out of the basement

This interior has never looked so fresh. The new Guage lens makes a huge difference as well as painting up some of the trim and cleaning the carpet.

Need it outside and away from the harsh garage lighting to really show to. The pics don’t do it justice.

Black interior. It photographs well but holy hell is is hard to keep clean. I still think gray interior is the best for looks and practicality. But I’ll still take this.
