Just finished up today on my first spring project. Took me all but an hour to install, not all that difficult. I'm really diggin' the front without the license plate, but in NY it's a requirement. I would hate to ruin such a nice bumper and drill holes, so I'm going to see how long it takes before I get pulled over before I have to do it. Of course I couldn't pass up some pics of under the hood as well! Up next are some 17x10.5 deep dish wheels for the rears.

Comments welcome

Looks good. I kinda want that bumper 4 my Mach, but Im not too sure how it would look with a Mach 1 chin spoiler. Definately leave the front plate off. I havent had a front plate on my stang for over a year & a 1/2, and Ive never been pulled over for it. Pretty sure its the law in Cali 2.

is there metal behind the bumper that you could just use one of those magnetic license plate holders to keep a license plate on???

I remember a while ago that someone made a specific mounting bracket for the front license plate for the cobra bumper so you didnt have to drill holes.

report to nys dmv that u lost ur front plate while driving somewhere and u can get away with it till ur registration expires. then they will make u get another set of plates, cause someone stole my front 4d racing personalized plate off my car so i went down and reported it and i do fine at nysp checkpoints and to the local donkeys

Your car looks great man! I did the Cobra bumper swap a couple of years ago myself. I could never bring a drill to it to put on a plate either--it just looks so dang clean without it....it's required here in Colorado too and I have been pulled over (once) but have yet to be fined. Knock on wood....

Thanks for all the comments! Yeah I think I'm going to leave the front plate off. If I REALLY have to put one on, I'll mount the bracket with double sided tape.

As far as the Mach wheels, some pleople love 'em, some hate 'em. Obviously I love 'em. I figured I'd be different, since everybody seems to be sporting Bullitts or Cobra R's nowadays. The only other wheels I'd probably consider are FR500's.
