last year when i was driving my GT i didnt have an extra set of winter wheels. unfortunately chicago winter kicked my 18x9 and 18x10 FR500 wheels ass. the salt started pitting the dish on the rears (didnt do much for the lip on the fronts either). this year, when i got my cobra it came with the stock wheels and i was able to pick up a great deal on some blizzaks (96 bucks each at tire rack!!!) so i can now retire the 18's for summer only.
so i wanted to clean up the 18's so i wont be embarrassed taking my car to local shows this summer and have my rims look like garbage. i started the process of wetsanding the dish on one of the rears tonight. i am starting with a 400 grit, then an 800, 1000, and 2000. since my fingers and arm are getting tired i figured i would post some progress pics!!
first a couple pics of my car at the very beginning of snow season wearing some fresh blizzaks.
