just pulled a 302 from a 66 fairlane yesterday and tore it down and found out it had 60 over pistons in it. im not sure if they are forged or hyper. all it says on the top is .060 and nothing on the underside. anyone have any ideas on how to tell the difference visually or maybe a weight difference between the two

forgot to also say they are flat tops with 4 valve reliefs. they look almost identical to a pair of 30 over trw's i had awhile back. dunno if this will help or not lol.

Lets try this... more than likely they are a cast unit!! I would assume that... rather than a forged unit and trash your engine on boost... cool??

thumper you are right, they are cast lol. scrubbed off some buildup off the bottom and it read 273AP which federal moguls piston is the same number
