306 with gt-40y heads with port and polish...c&l 73 mm...65mm tb...cobra intake..24 lbs injectors...b303...maybe e303 cant decide......up compression to around 11 or 11.5 to 1.....1 5/8 headers shorties...2 1/2 in full exhaust...k&n conical....1.6 or 1.7 roller rockers still up in the air....so i just need some thoughts on hp and anything else u guys can think of....

Well I'm not 100% sure but I would say with that compression and everything else at least 400-450 at the wheels, could be wrong though.. Sounds like a sweet setup.. 306's are always nice for reving, thats why i'm building a long rod 306 so i can rev to 8500

I'll bet you could do better than ported GT40y heads with another out of the box aluminum head. Im no expert and can't recommend anything but I would look around some more. I'm sure someone out there will recommend something. You could do better than a ford letter cam too. Is the 306 put together already? If not then get pistons that can accomodate big valves. Good luck, sorry I'm no real help.

Is this thing going to be driven on the street? 11.5 to 1 compression is getting a bit high for pump gas isn't it? Why not 10 or 10.5?

if money isn't an issue, dss has a great 306. A buddy of mine has a dds 306 with cobra upper and lower and afr 185's and a blower and hes running 11's. just my 2 cents.

List everything on you new motor setup and ill run a dyno for you.

and then ill play around and mabey ill find you some more Hp

BTW i would also do a long rod 306, 1.8 rod ratio he!! yeah you could go to 7500 all day long and then go to 8500 to with the rite cam

OK, one tenth of a point compression is worth about 1-2 hp. You'd be giving a little up by only running say 10.5 to 1, but I don't think anything in the area of 11 to 1 is safe for pump gas, even running 93 octane. If I were you, I'd do some more research before you pick pistons and have your heads milled.

lastly will you be getting a chip to bypass the stock revlimiter, (you will gain alot of hp by doing this cus i can choose a better cam for your combo).
