I currently have Comp Cams stage 2 extreme street/strip cams. I was thinking about an upgrade for a little more power that i need (and wont put me over my RR class limit) I was looking into the bigger grinds comp makes, and the other ones VT makes. Now when i ordered my cams before, they said nothing about a 3000 stall converter. But now all the descriptions say u need at least a 3000 stall converter. Im a manual, so i don't have to worry about that right? Slap me around for bein a retard, btw

Damn those are some high numbers! I can't imagine you'll get much more out of that engine with those mods. I've never seen numbers that high without head work.

How much did you pickup with the extreme cams?

Unless I'm missing something, I can't figure out how you are making that much power. The torque is off the charts for a N/A 4.6L with stock heads/pistons/etc.

My car has most of the same parts (not brands, though) and makes 290RWHP/301RWTQ.

I have '03 GT with the following :

- CompCams XE270AH cams
- CompCams springs
- Mac LT's
- Trubendz X-pipe (big POS, bent by Ray Charles himself)
- Spintech Sportsmans welded into Magnaflow catback
- Steeda CAI
- C&L Plenum
- Accufab 75mm TB
- Steeda U/D pullies
- Dynotune/chip (Pro-M)

Are you sure you don't have a small shot of nitrous that you forgot about or maybe they accidentally put a 5.4L in your car?

BTW, you are pretty much maxed-out cam-wise. The XE278AHs cause P/V clearance issues and basically anything with more duration/lift than you have will cause problems.

i think i remember reading a thread a while back where this guy went to the dyno and got these numbers, and everyone flamed him for it. but yea i don't see how he's making that much horsepower without the giggle gas or a bigger motor.

Most of the guys at Modular Depot that are running the XE270s are between 280-305hp without headwork. There are only a couple the last time I saw that had made it past 300hp, but a couple guys with ported heads have 310-315hp or so but the torque is still WAY down from Cali03Boss's numbers.

Well, this is the first time that I have been the first person in the thread to raise the flag, but....

I agree dude, they are crazy numbers. IMO he needs to have the car re-dyno'd at a different place and see what he comes up with. If he's got money for cams then I am sure he's got money for a dyno run at a shop. BUT in that thread I was referring to, there were a few guys who witnessed the runs themselves and verified that is what the dyno said. Personally if I got such screwy numbers I wouldn't put them in my sig at all.

sorry i couldn't post i took my bro to a movie. I do have headwork done. I would have listed in my sig but stangnet wont allow anymore stuff in there...new heads, pistons, crank, connecting rods...theres more but whatever. And if i do get the new cams ( when i find the right grind ), i will be selling the old ones. New they're like 599 or something they have about 3-4k miles on em, so id sell for like 350-400

I guess that makes more sense. Like I said, it seems like the major thing with going past VT Stage II or Comp XE270s (Stage II) is the piston to valve clearance. Make sure that is checked and rechecked. You might have to have your pistons notched for valve clearance depending on what type pistons you have (flat tops, dished, etc)

They're flat tops so id prolly have to have them notched would i?
