I'm looking to put some serious power into my V6 and get a great sound out of it. I have flowmaster super 40's on it right now, i was thinking mac longtubes, and and h-pipe (what's a good kind of h-pipe to get?) What's are some ideas for internals that will give me a more aggressive sound and the capability to support a supercharger and/or nitrous? I'm going to cam it but don't want that "popcorn" sound in the tailpipes, what cam specs for a good, low gurgle? Also, what about a 4.2L crank, does that require a bore, or what will it do for performance and sound? Anything?

Thanks

No internal upgrades will make it sound any different other than a big cam which you don't want. To stroke it means new pistons, rods and crank and usually clearencing the block for the longer stroke. That will give it more power but not sound different. You can run nitrous on it the way it is as long as you stay at 75 hp or less and run colder plugs and high octane gas. If you want more a forged crank, new forged pitons with lower ring lands, bigger fuel pump and injectors and a tune. An H pipe will only help a little with reducing the popping sound we get but won't add in power with these motors (even firing). Also you can run a turbo or blower on the stock motor, just keep the boost below 11 psi.

what about bolt ons? i decided to wait awhile for the serious engine parts till i get a little more miles on the car. Besides the exhaust I just have a short throw shifter ad a diablosport predator tuner. I don't really want underdrive pulleys because I have an aftermarket stereo system nor a cold air intake because it owuld be a waste of money seeing as there is a supercharger coming in the future. Any other ideas for bolt ons?

Don't gears really down your gas mileage though?
