Ok so i have a '94 gt, and my best buddy bought a 95' cobra. i have more mods but of course he pulls on me in the upper rpm range :( . I was wondering if an explorer intake would cure this. Im thinking of the explorer mainly for cost reasons but if its not worth my money lemme know and i will just keep on saving a little longer.

My mods are:
pullies, 3.73's, cam (not sure specs, need to call the guy i bought it from), 65mm TB, and a K&N, 2 chamber flows

his mods:
3.73's, b&M ripper shifter, off road X, 2 chamber flows

Get that stock h-pipe off there and you should be able to keep up with him. An Explorer intake will definitley put you over the top. If you plan on getting some high flowing aluminum heads in the future you should probably look for something like an Eddy Performer or TFS Street Heat.

Even if you do the intake and offroad pipe, at best that gives you the same abilities as his engine in that regard. Now you could do headers, and get a tiny gain, and that would be something he doesn't already have. And you could swap your cam back to the HO cam, since it'll likely make better power. He still has GT40 heads, though, so good luck.

Diablo , JMS, or something custom done on the dyno for best performance. The 94-95 computers just dont respond to mods as well as the older fox computers.

alright, ill check into them.
P.S you have an intense stable of 'stangs :hail2:

i just realized, i forgot to put i have cobra rockers

Man no joke these gas prices are killing me as well... I used to have a good job making good money and thats how I could build these cars.. but I got caught up in lay offs and Ive been working for my dad for over a year making half of what I made befor. It would be so nice to see gas prices go back down :(

damn sorry to hear it man, yeah im a college student so i am always scraping for money...

Here it's $2.00+ for 87

That's California for you. They reformulated the gas with MTBE and hiked the prices, then when they found out that the MTBE was leaking out through the gas tanks in to the water table, they reformulated it again without MTBE and hiked the price again. The silly thing is that any modern EFI car out there will adjust for the ammount of oxygen in the gas, so it's only carbed and mechanical fuel injection cars that are effected by all of this reformulation crap. I bet the first thing they did was increase their jets after their car started to run like crap because of the oxygenated gas.

The politicians stub their toe and their first reaction is to shoot them self in the head because no brain = no pain.
