I have heard that the motor mounts from a convertible drops the engine around 3/4 of an inch. Is this ture. If not does anyone have any suggestions or know of where I can buy some mounts to dop the motor 3/4 to 1"? The hoos i have now is TOOOO tall for my liking and want to go back to the stocker.

Where can I find the convertible mounts? Advance or autozone carry them? All I find is regular mounts. Convertible is not specified.

how about just a smaller hood? lol i know thats expensive.

I have heard they make drop motor mounts for a 351 swap, and they are the same mounts, so that will work.

i have a 4" cowl and i love it....how high is yours?

Know where I could happen to find any of these drop mounts? My hood is suppose to be a 4" hood but i believe it is higher.

yes that hood is a bit much.

use the 351W swap mounts, they will work and will drop the
engine 3/4"

vert mounts do NOT drop the engine any.

and thats looks like a 6" lift to me

heres a pic of my 4" lift hood and it doesnt look that high

I heard that the rubber mounts absorb alot of the vibrations that the engine put out. And that with the kind of power I am making now wouldn't that leave my block more open to cracking? Just a thought.

Havent used them myself
Like yourself my hood is needed functionality, not just for looks

I noticed that pan clearance around the steering rack
and front sway bar would be really really close if using drop mounts too.

I would imagine vibration and noise increases substanialy
wouldnt really worry about cracking the block, but engine noise
and vibration will definately be transfered over more.

I heard from many people that the vert mounts frop 3/4 of an inch. Maybe thats on the fox style verts? Cause I read thats what Saleen used on their 351

The vert mounts are slightly stronger
but do not drop the engine any.

I've also heard that their extra strength is just a myth

trust me I looked all over the place when going this 351W swap
and the HP solid drop mounts are the only thing that truely "drop" the engine

Feel for ya, hood clearance issues can suck. I started off with a 2.5" hood
and had to go to a 4" to clear the install without using soid drop mounts.

Take a good look under your pan and see how much room you
really have to drop the engine first. It's tight under there unless
you've already swapped k-members
