Explorer rear will not work, it has offset axle shafts, they may be using the trac loc out of it if its 31 spline, not sure, need a fox or sn-95 8.8 rear.

Yea, won't find much advise on a prius around here. We got daddywagons, monsters, a frankenstang, a cobra intake that has a convertible top and belly button stangs so keep an open mind.

I like the second car as the best bet...The first car is a hack, The last car is a mess, nothing left behind means you'll have to find everything, and the 4 cylinder car may as well be a gutted roller.

Which track will you be going to? I grew up in Calhoun and still go back to paradise every now and then.

There is a casting number by the starter that will tell...the first letter is the decade,...c=60’s, d=70’s, e=80’s etc....
The next number is the year in that decade.

Yah, that one pic doesn't show anything to be able to tell what it is. Only that it is a pre-F4TE (roller) casting.

F4TE is a roller block, meaning GB ut accepts factory roller lifters. That block is an older block, before that time.

Is that a good thing that it's a pre F4TE block

I’d personally look for a non roller block and just use retro fit link bar lifters. They’re more expensive, but link bars are The way to go.

The non roller blocks don’t have any issues with cracks around the cam bearings, which is known to happen on roller blocks.
