So i breathed some new life into my 96gt to the tune of 270rwhp and 310rwtq. It was bone stock when i started at 190rwhp and 261rwtq. Heres a list of what i did
Ford PI heads with pi cams
Ford PI intake
Steeda underdrive pullys
Acufab 70mm tb and plenum
K&N FIPK
Sct Custom tune
Magnaflow Xpipe and cat back

I'm saving now for a new clutch some gears and a new set of cams, i hope i crest the 300 mark with cams and a good tune, but that will have to wait.


Also now that that has been together for 3 weeks, its starting to devolpe a weird noise, i'm not sure if its because i picked up a lot of little rocks from all the streets getting paved of what, Anyway it only does this when the car is in gear, and is worse in 1st then 2nd and progressivly on. It almost sounds like something is spinning and that something is scratching it. But the noise is worse at lower rpm's and gets less and less through the powerband, it sounds like its coming from the clutch and right under the parking break. The other weird thing is that it will be there for a while then go away compleatly. Any thought's? Thanks in advance.

Dude you need to take the car to a mechanic and have them listen to it. We'll have no chance guessing what it is. Could be tons of things..

i'm sorry it wasnt 270 it was 263 i rounded up but its not that big of a difference. heres some pics.

the noise almost sounds like a tumbling creek, i know weird description, but it most accuratly describes it. i havent lost any driveability yet. it only does it when the clutch is engaged and when under acceleration or a load like going up a hill. not so much at highway speeds just crusing along

It's your throwout bearing. You can alter the noise by placing your foot on the clutch. On older cars you can actually feel the noise through the pedal.

Actually i have the same noise and if you put your ear right next to the shifter, you'll here it best. Did you install an aftermarket shifter? Reason i say that is because after i got my MGW, the tranny noise became louder as is expected. Hope its something normal though, and its not the throw-out bearing. The TOB makes a squeaking noise

no its the stock tranny and clutch, and you can hear it really good when the window is down outside.
