New O5 Mustang GT Steeda cold air intake

Had a Steeda cold air kit installed on our new '05 Mustang GT last week. What a difference it makes. The shop tuned it and got an additional 30 horsepower on their dyno. Both my wife and I have driven the car and noticed a big difference on o 150 mile round trip to her parents this weekend. We gave our '05 a Christmas present and it was more than worth the investment.

I heard the same thing. I think with the CAI and a dyno tune, 30 hp is possible.

Yeah, the 05 gets a lot of power from just a tune.
At modulardepot.com, they got 10 rwhp and 9 rwtq from just removing the hydrocarbon filter and tuning it.

im w/ this guy. i read the MD review and saw the dyno chart, but 30 at the wheels from a CAI?? until i see some dyno proof, it just sounds like another night at a honda meet.

The next modification done was removing the Hydrocarbon filter right after the MAF sensor (see pic below). This piece adds a fairly large restriction in the air inlet. Other tests have show removing this piece without a tune will actually cause the car to lose power. This is due to the ETC system and can be taken care of within the tune. I can't stress how important it is for the 2005 Mustang to get a tune whenever any modification is made.
Removing the HC filter provided additional 10rwhp and 9rwtq when combined with the SCT tune. That brings the new numbers to 272 rwhp / 297 rwtq

CAI and dyno tune. Ford's tune is very conservative on the '05's.
