I just got back from the dyno, getting a chip burnt after my ATI blower install on my 88 tbird turbo coupe. the #'s were 420rwhp, and 420rwtq, and that was with a slipping clutch and slipping blower belt. The guy tuning my car said I will easiliy see another 40-60hp/tq once I fix the clutch, and tighten the blower belt. I didnt want to tighten the blower belt at the dyno as I think it would have aggrevated the slipping clutch even more..

Yeah, pics are awesome! A guy in my school had a 87' 5.0 T-bird with 10-hole rims. Looked and SOUNDED amazing. Plus the guy drove like a maniac and showed off all the time, that car made me want a 5.0 so bad. Unfortunately u can only get t-birds in Automatic, and they're a lot harder to find than stangs anyway. so i went with the mustang. Im not complaining tho, I love my car!

Heres some pics...

As far as ET's go 420hp is close to what my AOD car has and I have run a best of 12.90 @112 with some serious traction and tuning issues. Altitude corrected thats 12.40-12.45. With 2.2 60ft's that's what you could expect. With very good traction you could see bottom 11's.

I'd say the slipping clutch could over inflate your numbers man with the engine revving so much faster from the slip. I'd retune it once thos eissues are fixed.

Whats the set up?

i am planning on a re-tune once the clutch is done.. The clutch is not slipping bad at all, in fact to most people they cant even tell. Once the clutch got nice and warm it did start grabbing really good at the dyno too.

As far as the et, I was pulling 13.1 @106 without the charger w/slicks, I was also pulling the front wheels about an inch or so on launch with 1.7 60's. I am anticipating now with the blower to be around 11.5 or lower with slicks.

The combo is a gt-40 long block, ATI P1SC w/3-core. I have just about all the bolt ons. 42 lb inj, gt-40 intake, complete msd ignition, 70mm t/b, equal length shorties, x-pipe (no cats), 2.5 tails, pro-m ati MAF, cobra ECU, etc... 4.10 gears, tremec....

you must shift slow or somthing..

i cut a 1.75 60' (drag radials) a 60' like yours, trapped 105.8 (call it 106), like yours, but i ran a 12.8x
??????

with 420 hp on the ground, thats a solid low 11 second car.
with a good 60' (and that power is capable of 1.6s maybe even 1.5s) you could see an awesome time.

suspension will have alot to do with it, if you plan on 'milking' it.
taking the power its got on tap, and using it to its full potential.

i see guys run 13.5s at 115 mph, thats 11 second mph right there!
if you're using slicks, it'll be fun as hell out of the hole!!

Not really shifting slow, consider that i am in a tbird though, which is at least a couple hundred pounds heavier than a mustang. And according to your sig you weigh in a 3200+ lbs, mine is like 3650-3700lbs.

I would say your looking at a 11.90 pass @ around 115.You have a couple of things against you, weight, suspention, standard. If you get a 1.7 shorty than your looking at a mid 11.8. You will always be a little quicker with an auto because you don't come out of boost and you can't shift fast enough to keep up with an auto.
The thing to remember is mph happens after the 1/8th so it's a matter of putting the tourque you have to good use out the hole and up to the 1/8th mile and from there hp plays it's role to carry you the rest of the way.

I have 425 to the ground through the auto,no trans brake big plows up front at the time of the pull and a race weight of 3600 with me in it,time is in the sig.

Good luck I wish you the best :nice:

Edit, don't get me confussed about standard trany being against you.I'm refering to coming in and out of boost not coming out of the hole :D
